Senate Democrats Erupt Over Latest Trump Arrest
In a dramatic and long-overdue crackdown on judicial interference in immigration enforcement, the Trump administration has arrested a Wisconsin judge accused of helping an illegal immigrant escape federal custody.
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan is now facing serious federal charges after allegedly assisting Mexican national Eduardo Flores Ruiz — who is in the U.S. illegally — to evade arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). According to federal authorities, Dugan intentionally directed Flores Ruiz out of her courtroom through a side exit, while ICE agents waited in the hallway.
The FBI has charged Dugan with two felony counts for obstructing justice and aiding an unlawful presence in the United States. FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X: “Judge Dugan misled federal agents, allowing an illegal alien to escape arrest. This is unacceptable conduct for anyone, let alone a sitting judge.”
But instead of backing law enforcement, Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) is lashing out at the Trump administration — calling the judge’s arrest “a gravely serious and drastic move” and claiming it threatens the separation of powers. She accused President Trump of “attacking the judicial system” and “undermining democracy,” despite clear evidence of obstruction.
Critics say Baldwin’s remarks are part of a larger pattern of Democrats defending illegal immigration and obstructing law enforcement. With America’s borders under siege and crime rising in sanctuary cities, many voters see this arrest as a necessary step to restore accountability and uphold the rule of law.
President Trump has made clear: No one is above the law — not even judges who defy federal authorities to shield illegal immigrants from arrest.
Judge Dugan appeared in court Friday and could face years in prison if convicted.
