US And Europes Urged To Unite

Prior American Ambassador to Ukraine Will Taylor said Saturday that only a unified approach by the United States and its European partners can create enough pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.

Appearing on Newsmax’s “Saturday Agenda,” Taylor emphasized that close coordination between Washington, Kyiv, and major European governments is especially important as diplomatic talks intensify this weekend.

According to Taylor, consistent communication among Western allies is critical to ensuring that Moscow receives one clear and firm message.

He warned that when the United States and Europe appear divided or send mixed signals, it only strengthens Russia’s position and prolongs the conflict. In his view, sustained pressure backed by unity offers the best path toward serious negotiations.

Taylor also highlighted the importance of strong American leadership, noting that President Donald Trump plays a central role in keeping allied efforts aligned.

He said continued engagement from the White House helps reinforce cooperation with European partners at a crucial stage of the war.

Taylor pointed to the involvement of trusted Trump allies, including special envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner, as a positive development in maintaining close communication between the president and U.S. partners overseas.

He said their involvement helps convey the president’s views while improving coordination with Ukrainian officials and European partners.

According to Taylor, only a firm and coordinated strategy gives Western nations enough leverage to influence Moscow’s decision-making.

When diplomatic, economic, and political pressure are applied at the same time, he said, Russia has far fewer options to resist or delay progress.

Taylor concluded by stressing that the goal of these discussions is not symbolic unity or political posturing, but real results.

Without a strong, unified approach, he warned, the war could drag on, increasing instability across Europe and placing additional strain on global security.

The war began in February 2022, when Russian forces launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in an effort to reassert Moscow’s influence over its neighbor.

Instead, the conflict evolved into a prolonged and destructive war marked by heavy casualties, widespread damage, and the largest civilian displacement in Europe since World War II.

Backed by the United States and its European allies through military aid, intelligence sharing, and economic support, Ukraine has continued to resist Russian advances. Meanwhile, Moscow has relied on sustained military pressure, energy leverage, and repeated strikes on infrastructure, deepening the humanitarian and economic toll of the conflict.
