Why Trump’s Approval Is Surging
President Donald Trump is seeing a powerful boost in public approval, with the latest AP-NORC poll showing his support climbing to 45% — a five-point surge since July. Analysts say the momentum comes from what matters most to everyday Americans: law and order, economic security, and common-sense leadership.
Trump’s Poll Numbers Climb on Crime Policy
Political analyst Patrick Allocco, founder of the Zoose Political Index, told Newsmax that Trump’s growing support proves voters are responding to substance, not spin.
“This president’s approval is being driven by real policy,” Allocco explained. “His strong stance on crime and his focus on the economy are exactly what Americans are looking for.”
The poll shows Trump with 53% approval on crime policy, an eight-point net positive. Two-thirds of Americans say crime is a major national problem, while eight in ten view it as an urgent crisis in U.S. cities. Even more telling, 55% support deploying the National Guard to restore safety — a position backed not only by Republicans but also by nearly one-third of Democrats and half of independents.
The Economy Gives Trump Another Boost
The economy is also turning into a winning issue for Trump. His approval rating on economic policy climbed from 38% to 43%, while his net disapproval dropped sharply, cutting his negative margin in half.
For families hit by inflation and higher costs under Democrat leadership, Trump’s push to restore American industry, cut dependence on foreign goods, and bring prices down is striking a chord.
“This is excellent news for President Trump, the White House, and Republican leadership in Congress,” Allocco said. “It shows momentum is clearly on his side.”
Momentum Building for the Midterms and Beyond
The poll results highlight two central themes of Trump’s campaign: restore safety and strengthen the economy. Both issues are uniting conservatives, independents, and even some Democrats who are tired of rising crime and economic uncertainty.
Allocco called it a “high watermark” moment, noting that Trump’s consistent support in the mid-40s reflects a solid foundation heading into the midterms.
The Bottom Line
Americans want safer streets, lower prices, and a president who will put America First. This latest poll shows that voters see Trump delivering on those promises — while Democrats are left defending failed policies on crime and the economy.
