Newsom Attacks Hegseth
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) is under fire after launching a furious attack on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth—just as President Donald Trump ordered thousands of National Guard troops and U.S. Marines into riot-ravaged Los Angeles.
The federal deployment came in response to escalating violence tied to protests over immigration enforcement, with local officials unable to restore basic law and order. Newsom, instead of supporting efforts to protect innocent lives and property, chose to attack the Trump administration.
In a fiery interview with a far-left YouTube host, Newsom mocked Secretary Hegseth, calling him “a joke” and “an embarrassment,” while offering no real solution to the out-of-control situation unfolding in his own state.
“This guy’s weakness is masquerading as strength,” Newsom ranted—ignoring his own failure to manage rising crime, chaos, and illegal immigration in California.
Newsom then pushed a leftist narrative that the President’s actions undermine the U.S. Constitution, complaining about the “erosion” of checks and balances. “There’s one, maybe two branches of government left—and it sure as hell ain’t the legislature,” he said.
Instead of taking responsibility, Newsom attempted to deflect attention by attacking House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), bizarrely blaming Trump for alleged violence in Louisiana while ignoring California’s ongoing lawlessness.
“Where’s Donald Trump talking about the carnage in Speaker Johnson’s district?” Newsom asked—despite the fact that Los Angeles just saw widespread destruction, looting, and attacks on law enforcement.
In a desperate move, Newsom joined California Democrats in suing the Trump administration to stop the National Guard deployment. On Tuesday, he demanded an emergency court injunction to block the President’s lawful response.
“We’re holding onto hope,” he said, invoking the Founding Fathers and praising past lawsuits against the Trump administration. “We’ve won more than we’ve lost—and here we go again.”
But for many Americans watching the situation unfold, the real question is: When will California’s leaders stop attacking President Trump and start protecting their own citizens?
