GOP Passes Trump’s Major Plan
Congressional leaders released the full text of the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on Sunday, moving forward with one of the most important national security bills of the year. The NDAA outlines the policies that guide America’s military and defense strategy—at a time when global threats are increasing and voters are demanding stronger leadership.
The proposal sets a Pentagon policy framework aligned with President Trump’s national security priorities, including a budget that is $8 billion higher than the President’s original $892.6 billion request. While the NDAA does not directly appropriate money, it determines what the U.S. military can and cannot do in the year ahead.
Republicans: Bill Rebuilds Military Strength and Ends Biden-Era Ideology
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) praised the legislation as a major victory for conservatives and for Americans who want a strong, focused, and capable military.
House Speaker Johnson said the new NDAA moves forward President Trump’s “Peace Through Strength” vision by writing 15 of Trump’s executive orders into law, shutting down woke policies inside the Pentagon, reinforcing border security, rebuilding America’s defense industrial capacity, and bringing back a traditional warrior culture within the military.
Johnson emphasized that this NDAA includes key provisions passed by the House to ensure the U.S. Armed Forces remain the most powerful and lethal in the world.
He noted that the bill:
- Eliminates Biden-era DEI and CRT programs
- Restores merit-based promotions and admissions to U.S. service academies
- Blocks Pentagon contracts with partisan political organizations
- Counters antisemitism in military institutions
- Ends expensive climate and social-engineering initiatives that conservatives say distract from war-fighting readiness
A Major Test for Congress as Global Instability Grows
The NDAA could face a floor vote as early as this week, setting up a major moment for lawmakers who argue that the United States must rebuild military strength, secure the border, and reverse years of ideological programs inside the Pentagon.
With tensions rising abroad and Americans increasingly concerned about national security, this legislation becomes a defining measure for leaders committed to restoring readiness and supporting President Trump’s broader defense agenda.
