Does Putin Own Trump Like Democrats Say?

Trump Thanks The Judge?

In a recent speech at the Justice Department, President Donald Trump took a moment to praise Judge Aileen Cannon, calling her a “strong” and “brilliant” figure in the courtroom. Trump highlighted the unfair and harsh criticism she had faced, particularly in the media, and praised her for handling it with grace and strength.

“We had an incredible judge in Florida, and her name is Aileen Cannon,” Trump began, acknowledging her handling of the Mar-a-Lago case. He noted how the media and critics relentlessly attacked her, accusing her of being slow, biased, and overly favorable toward him. Despite the barrage of negative press, Trump expressed his admiration for her professionalism.

“They were hitting her so hard, with every criticism imaginable,” Trump said. “They said she was slow, not smart, and totally biased. They claimed she was too lenient and loved Trump. But I saw her in court for just a couple of days, and I was impressed by her decorum. She was brilliant.”

Trump emphasized that Judge Cannon was anything but the negative image painted by her critics. “She moved quickly, was decisive, and exemplified what a judge should be. She was tough, strong, and fair—qualities every American should appreciate in our judiciary,” he added.

During the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, Judge Cannon ruled in favor of Trump on several occasions, including a pivotal decision to toss out the case after agreeing with Trump’s legal team that the special counsel’s appointment was unlawful. This ruling went against decades of precedent, including a Supreme Court decision, and set a bold example of judicial independence.

Trump also praised Cannon’s decision to delay the release of certain portions of special counsel Jack Smith’s report, particularly the sections related to the January 6 investigation. Even though she eventually reversed that decision, Trump noted that the strength and resolve she showed under immense pressure only further solidified his admiration for her. “Her strength in the face of all that criticism was inspiring,” he concluded.
