Trump Doubles Down On ’60 Minutes’

President Donald Trump is once again taking the fight to the corporate media—this time targeting CBS News and its longtime flagship program, 60 Minutes, over what he calls a “fraudulent” and “manipulated” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris, aired just before the 2024 election.

In a fiery Truth Social post on Wednesday, Trump accused the network of intentionally editing and doctoring the footage to make Harris appear “somewhat coherent,” slamming the segment as nothing more than anti-Trump propaganda designed to deceive voters.

“CBS unlawfully fixed and manipulated the interview,” Trump wrote. “It was pure fake news, broadcast to help the failing Democrat ticket.”

At the time, CBS attempted to defend the controversial segment by releasing a transcript and claiming it was produced to serve the public interest—within the “constraints” of network TV. But critics argue the editing was a deliberate attempt to mislead viewers and protect a struggling campaign.

Now, the dispute has moved to the courtroom.

President Trump’s legal team is reportedly engaged in settlement talks with Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS News. Paramount is currently working on a multi-billion-dollar merger with Hollywood powerhouse Skydance Media—an effort that some conservatives worry could lead to even greater left-wing control over news and entertainment.

“This is exactly why millions of Americans don’t trust the press anymore,” Trump added. “We’re going to hold them accountable—CBS, 60 Minutes, and everyone behind the corruption. That’s what we’re doing in court right now.”

The president’s harsh words come just days after CBS ran a segment defending its past coverage while criticizing Trump’s legal efforts and his pushback against elite law firms that have openly opposed his America First agenda. The network also confirmed the abrupt departure of longtime 60 Minutes executive producer Bill Owens, raising questions about internal upheaval.

Media Bias Under Fire

Trump’s legal and public crusade against the corporate press is resonating with a growing number of Americans who feel the media no longer serves the people—but protects the powerful. For years, legacy outlets like CBS, CNN, and MSNBC have faced accusations of bias, distortion, and outright censorship.

This latest showdown only reinforces what many conservatives have believed for decades: the mainstream media is broken—and President Trump is the only one willing to call them out.
