Ocasio-Cortez Says Trump Intentionally Creating 'Chaos,' Is She Right?

Democrats Launch New Investigation

Washington, D.C. — The top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), has launched a politically charged investigation into Ed Martin—President Trump’s newly appointed Pardon Attorney and leader of the DOJ’s Weaponization Working Group.

Durbin’s inquiry, which critics call a thinly veiled partisan attack, demands access to all of Martin’s DOJ communications—especially those tied to Trump’s recent wave of pardons and his effort to expose deep-rooted corruption.

“If DOJ can’t charge them, we will name them—and in a culture that respects shame, they should be shamed,” Martin said in a fiery press conference on May 13.

That statement, hailed by many conservatives as a commitment to transparency and accountability, was quickly twisted by Durbin into claims of “abuse of power”—despite zero evidence of wrongdoing.

“Pay-to-Play” or Political Smear?

Durbin’s letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi accuses Martin of using his position to reward Trump allies. He pointed to the pardon of nursing home executive Paul Walczak, granted just weeks after Walczak’s mother contributed $1 million to a Trump fundraiser. Also mentioned: Nikola Corporation founder Trevor Milton, who donated nearly $2 million to Trump’s campaign and later received a pardon.

But many Americans see through this narrative—after all, donor-influenced pardons aren’t new, and Democrats have done the same for years without scrutiny.

Martin to Review Biden’s Pardons—Including Family Members

Adding fuel to the fire, Martin has announced a full review of pardons issued under former President Joe Biden, including those given to Biden’s own family. That effort has triggered panic in Democrat circles—possibly explaining the sudden media uproar and legal threats.

Durbin now claims that Martin’s actions will “undermine public trust,” yet many believe it’s Durbin and his allies who are trying to protect the deep state and bury accountability.

A Political Hit Job or Fight for Justice?

This latest attack on a Trump official is being seen by many as a desperate move to stop efforts to clean out political bias in the DOJ. With 2024 in the rearview mirror and 2028 on the horizon, conservative voters are demanding answers—and action.

Is this just the beginning of a broader war on Trump loyalists, or is it a sign the old Washington establishment is losing control?
