A controversial migrant detention center buried deep in the Florida Everglades is under fire after disturbing reports surfaced about inhumane living conditions and government overreach. The newly repurposed facility—now dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz”—has become a symbol of the Biden administration’s disastrous immigration policies, according to critics.

Located at the isolated Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport, this 17,000-acre compound has been housing illegal immigrants in what whistleblowers are calling a “human rights disaster.”

Rotting Food, Broken Toilets, No Medical Care

Family members and legal advocates say detainees are being subjected to unsanitary conditions, extreme heat, and neglect. One attorney, Phillip Arroyo, revealed that his client—a DACA recipient and longtime U.S. resident—was denied basic medical care after falling ill.

Another report details how detainee Braydon Cash-Brown went hours without food or clean water. “The toilets weren’t working, the lights kept going out, and he was only given half a cup of water,” said family advocate Kimberly Gibson. “It was hot, filthy, and dangerous.”

Others have described being served spoiled food crawling with insects, facing verbal abuse from guards, and enduring the psychological toll of indefinite confinement in an environment described as “unfit for animals, let alone human beings.”

National Guard Deployed as Crisis Grows

To address security concerns amid the growing influx of detainees, the Pentagon deployed 70 Florida National Guard troops to the site. The move has sparked outrage from Democrats and open-border activists who accuse the federal government of militarizing immigration enforcement.

Left-wing activist Thomas Kennedy slammed the deployment, claiming on social media that Guard troops are being used to bypass due process. “They’re turning soldiers into immigration judges in a swamp camp,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).
