House GOP Stands Firmly Behind Trump
Washington, D.C. — A very public social media clash between President Donald J. Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk may have stirred the internet, but it’s done little to shake the foundation of Republican unity on Capitol Hill.
On Thursday night, Musk took aim at President Trump on X (formerly Twitter), accusing him of being named in the sealed Epstein files—an explosive and uncorroborated claim that quickly made headlines.
“Here comes the real bombshell,” Musk wrote. “Donald Trump’s name appears in the Epstein documents—that’s the true reason they’ve stayed hidden. Enjoy your day, DJT.”
Despite the noise, conservative lawmakers aren’t flinching.
“It’s President Trump — Not President Musk”
While some conservatives do share Musk’s concerns about the soaring national debt, it’s clear that Trump still holds the confidence of the Republican base.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who leads the House DOGE subcommittee, put it plainly: “Every American vote mattered on Nov. 4, 2024. Whether someone donated $1 or $100 million, the choice was clear—Donald Trump.”
Another Republican lawmaker, speaking anonymously, said it best: “It’s President Trump, not President Musk. Period.”
Mike Johnson: “Trump Is the Leader of Our Time”
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., reaffirmed his unwavering support, noting the nation’s progress under Trump’s leadership.
“Do not doubt or second-guess President Trump,” Johnson told reporters. “He is the leader of our party—and arguably the most consequential political figure of the modern era.”
Even Trump Critics Refuse to Side With Musk
Even among GOP members who opposed Trump’s recent “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” loyalty to the president remains strong.
Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, who voted against the bill, said Trump’s resilience in the face of smears is unmatched.
“Trump doesn’t retreat—he’s all fight,” Davidson said. “Musk, on the other hand, came off as unhinged and emotional. Hopefully, he cools down and comes back to reality.”
Rep. Tim Moore, R-N.C., echoed that sentiment: “The public spat is unfortunate, but the American people chose Trump to lead. That speaks louder than anything Musk says online.”
Bottom Line: Conservatives Stand Strong With Trump
Despite media efforts to stir division, Trump’s base remains solid. House Republicans—and millions of conservative voters—are making it clear: America First is here to stay, and President Trump is the man leading the charge.
