Newsom Tears Into Fox News

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and his press team are in damage-control mode after Fox News anchor Dana Perino blasted his bizarre obsession with social media. Instead of focusing on California’s skyrocketing crime, homelessness, and crumbling economy, Newsom’s office is spending its time firing off unhinged posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Perino Calls Out Newsom’s Obsession with Social Media

During a segment on Fox’s The Five, Perino — who served as press secretary under President George W. Bush — said Newsom and his team need to “stop it with the Twitter thing.” She added, “If I were his wife, I would say you are making a fool of yourself — stop it.”

Minutes later, Newsom’s official press account fired back in all caps: “ALMOST A WEEK IN AND THEY STILL DON’T GET IT.”

Newsom Escalates Attacks on Trump and Fox

In recent weeks, Newsom’s account has turned into a platform for all-out attacks on President Donald Trump and Fox News. The account mimics Trump’s trademark all-caps posts but uses the style to mock conservatives and issue bizarre “warnings.”

One recent rant during the redistricting fight in Texas declared:

“DONALD TRUMP, THE WORST-POLLING PRESIDENT IN MODERN TIMES — THIS IS YOUR NEXT-TO-LAST WARNING!!! (THE FINAL ONE COMES AFTER THIS!).”

The account even threatened a “counter-strike” from California, promising to legally challenge Republican redistricting efforts.

Meanwhile, California Democrats unveiled their own redistricting legislation to offset Republican gains in Texas — another sign that Democrats are more interested in playing politics than serving the people.

2028 Presidential Ambitions?

Newsom’s outbursts are fueling speculation that he’s gearing up for a 2028 presidential run. But critics say his behavior proves he lacks the seriousness needed for higher office.

Perino summed it up perfectly: “He’s got a big job as governor of California, but if he wants an even bigger job, he has to be a little bit more serious.”

Instead of taking her advice, Newsom doubled down, posting again Tuesday:

“FOX CAN’T STAND THAT I’M AMERICA’S TOP GOVERNOR — THE ‘RATINGS KING’ — FIGHTING TO SAVE THIS COUNTRY, WHILE TRUMP CAN’T EVEN HANDLE THE ‘BIG STAIRS’ ON AIR FORCE ONE ANY LONGER!!!”

Bottom Line

California is facing record homelessness, an out-of-control crime wave, sky-high taxes, and families leaving the state in droves. Yet Gov. Newsom and his taxpayer-funded press office seem more interested in social media theatrics than solving real problems.

For many conservatives, it’s a clear preview of what Democrats have to offer in 2028: more theatrics, more attacks on Trump, and less focus on the American people.
