Democrat Trolls Trump
Washington, D.C. — President Trump’s tough-on-crime policies are shaking up liberal-run cities across America — and Democrats are lashing out.
On Thursday, California Rep. Ro Khanna (D) openly mocked the president during an appearance on CNN’s NewsNight, suggesting that Trump should run for mayor instead of leading the country.
“I sometimes think President Trump may have chosen the wrong office since he seems so focused on local city issues,” Khanna said mockingly. “If he’s that eager to handle street-level problems, maybe he should consider running for mayor instead.”
Khanna’s comments come amid reports that Trump’s team has been exploring ways to reshape New York City politics, including potentially offering Mayor Eric Adams a federal role to clear the way for former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) to take on radical socialist Zohran Mamdani.
Trump Slams Radical Socialist Agenda in NYC
Mamdani has pushed far-left policies such as free childcare, government-run grocery stores, and soft-on-crime measures.
In July, President Trump blasted Mamdani in a fiery Truth Social post, vowing to protect New York City from extremist policies:
“As President, I refuse to sit back and let this radical communist tear New York apart,” Trump vowed. “I have every tool and advantage needed to turn things around, and I will save New York City, making it vibrant and thriving once more — just like I did for the United States!”
Mamdani has also criticized Trump’s strong support for Israel and his zero-tolerance approach to violent crime, putting him directly at odds with the administration’s agenda.
Trump Deploys National Guard to Restore Law and Order
Determined to restore safety and security, President Trump has deployed hundreds of National Guard troops to crime-ravaged cities like Washington, D.C. to tackle skyrocketing violence.
Federal agents have joined forces with local law enforcement, cracking down on illegal immigration, gang activity, and drug trafficking.
Earlier this summer, Trump ordered military personnel to Los Angeles after violent riots erupted in response to his administration’s mass deportation operations.
Liberal leaders like Khanna, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) condemned the move, accusing the president of “fearmongering.”
But many Americans see it differently — viewing Trump as the only leader willing to take bold action to protect families and communities.
Democrats Defend High-Crime Cities While Criticizing Trump
Khanna went on to attack Trump for targeting cities like Los Angeles and Washington while leaving other high-crime areas in red states untouched.
“And by the way, have you noticed that places like St. Louis and Memphis, which have some of the worst crime rates, aren’t even being mentioned?” Khanna remarked.
The president has also signaled that Chicago and other liberal-run cities could soon see federal interventions to stop surging violent crime.
Khanna Pushes Foreign Policy Distractions
Instead of supporting efforts to keep American streets safe, Khanna urged Trump to shift his focus overseas.
“I’d prefer he put his attention on the economy, on working toward peace in Gaza, and on addressing the situation in Ukraine,” Khanna told CNN host Abby Phillip. “What this country doesn’t need is a militarized presence patrolling our streets.”
At the same time, President Trump is actively working behind closed doors to negotiate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, keeping his campaign pledge to bring an end to America’s involvement in endless foreign wars.
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has resisted NATO’s pressure and escalated attacks on key cities like Kyiv, creating an uphill battle for peace negotiations.
Bottom Line: Trump Stands Firm on Protecting Americans
President Trump’s law-and-order agenda has reignited a national debate over public safety and government responsibility.
While Democrats like Khanna mock and criticize, Trump remains laser-focused on cleaning up crime-ridden cities, defending American families, and restoring respect for law enforcement.
As the 2028 election cycle heats up, this battle between Trump’s America First agenda and the Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies is shaping up to be a defining issue for voters — especially those who have had enough of chaos and violence in their communities.
Why This Matters
- Trump is fighting to bring law and order back to America’s cities.
- Democrats are pushing back, even as crime rates soar in their districts.
- Voters face a clear choice: safety and security under Trump, or chaos and radical policies under the left.
