California Refuses To Help Trump?

In a strong defense of law and order, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) threw his full support behind President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy 2,000 National Guard troops to the streets of Los Angeles to help restore peace amid growing unrest targeting federal immigration enforcement officers.

Speaking Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union, Johnson highlighted the stark contrast between Trump’s decisive leadership and the passive response of California’s Democrat officials.

“We saw this same pattern in Wisconsin,” Johnson said. “Governor Tony Evers refused to act, and Kenosha burned. President Trump sent in the National Guard, and the violence stopped overnight. That’s what real leadership looks like.”

Trump’s National Guard Deployment Comes as California Descends Into Lawlessness

President Trump’s move comes in response to escalating violence where protesters—some wearing masks and carrying projectiles—clashed with federal agents in riot gear. Despite the clear threat to public safety, California Governor Gavin Newsom opposed the National Guard deployment, raising eyebrows among many Americans concerned about rising lawlessness in major cities.

Johnson didn’t mince words.

“California’s Democrat leaders are failing to protect federal law enforcement and the communities they serve. This isn’t about politics—it’s about safety.”

The clashes have drawn national attention, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth suggesting that the Pentagon could send in Marines if the violence continues. However, Johnson believes the Guard’s presence will be enough to calm the situation—as it did in Wisconsin during the Kenosha riots.

Senator: Democrat Politicians Should Stop Fueling the Flames of Unrest

Johnson also criticized Democrat lawmakers for encouraging protests that too often escalate into violent confrontations.

“We’d all be better off if Democrat politicians stopped stirring the pot and started standing with law enforcement,” Johnson said. “Enough is enough.”

His comments reflect growing concerns among older voters, especially those in suburban and rural areas, about the breakdown of law and order in Democrat-run cities.

On the Economy: Johnson Wants Trump’s Bill to Go Further in Tackling the Debt

Turning to fiscal policy, Johnson—long known as a budget hawk—voiced cautious support for President Trump’s ambitious One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which aims to rein in federal spending and boost economic growth. But Johnson said the legislation must go even further to truly address America’s ballooning deficit.

“I support the president and much of what’s in the bill,” he said. “But we need deeper cuts. We can’t just slap a Band-Aid on this problem and move on. Unlike Democrats who just keep spending, we have to take real steps toward fiscal sanity.”

Bottom Line: America Needs Strong Leadership, Not Weak Excuses

Sen. Johnson’s message was clear: President Trump is stepping up where liberal state leaders are stepping back. With law enforcement under attack and communities at risk, the American people—especially those who remember the values of accountability, security, and discipline—are rallying behind the president’s actions.
