Are we soon going to be saying bye bye Newsom? Lets hope so!

LOS ANGELES — A major shake-up is underway in California’s legal landscape.

President Donald Trump has appointed Republican Assemblyman Bill Essayli to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, the largest and most populated federal judicial district in the country. Essayli’s appointment signals a bold new direction—one that prioritizes law and order, cracks down on illegal immigration, and restores trust in the Department of Justice.

“We’re Dismantling California’s Sanctuary Status”

In an exclusive interview, Essayli didn’t mince words.

“We’re going to dismantle the sanctuary state protections California has enjoyed under liberal leadership,” he said.

California’s sanctuary policies, long championed by Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom, have made the state a magnet for illegal immigrants and transnational crime networks. But under President Trump’s new DOJ leadership, those days may be numbered.

Cracking Down on Illegal Immigration and Transnational Crime

As the new top federal prosecutor in a region that includes Los Angeles County and nearly 20 million residents, Essayli says his priorities are clear:

  • Prosecute criminal illegal immigration
  • Target transnational gangs and drug cartels
  • Investigate public corruption in California politics

“We’re going after criminal illegal immigration and terrorist-designated organizations,” Essayli said. “We’re restoring law and order—period.”

Standing Up to Newsom’s Left-Wing Agenda

Governor Newsom previously established a $50 million legal defense fund to “Trump-proof” the state and protect illegal immigrants. Essayli, long a critic of the governor, is preparing for a direct showdown.

“We’re not backing down. We’re working with the Trump Justice Department and Attorney General Pam Bondi to put together a plan. And when we act—it will be public, and it will be powerful.”

Newsom’s office responded in the past by claiming no funds go toward criminals. But critics argue California’s sanctuary laws do exactly that—protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding citizens.

A Voice for Parental Rights and Common Sense

Essayli has also been on the front lines of the fight to protect parental rights in schools and push back against radical gender ideology. Just hours before resigning his Assembly seat, he introduced Assembly Bill 844, aimed at stopping biological males from competing in girls’ sports.

“It’s not just bad policy—it’s a violation of Title IX,” Essayli told lawmakers. “California schools are at risk of losing billions in federal funding.”

Predictably, Democrats in the state legislature killed the bill along party lines. But Essayli remains undeterred.

From Prosecutor to Patriot: Essayli’s Background

Born to Lebanese immigrants, Essayli brings a powerful immigrant success story to his new role. Before launching his own law firm in 2019, he served as a federal prosecutor and deputy district attorney, handling major cases including:

  • The 2015 San Bernardino terrorist attack
  • A high-profile opioid prescription fraud case

Now, he’s leading an office with over 250 federal prosecutors and overseeing a region that stretches across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Ventura, and beyond.

Restoring Trust in the Department of Justice

The Trump administration has made it clear: the DOJ must serve the people—not political agendas.

“Under this President, we’re ending the weaponization of the Justice Department,” Essayli said. “We’re bringing integrity and transparency back to law enforcement.”

While Essayli’s nomination requires Senate confirmation, President Trump has already exercised his authority to place him in the role on an interim basis.

What’s Next for California?

Essayli’s appointment represents a turning point in California politics—and a direct challenge to the progressive policies that have dominated the state.

Will California comply with federal law? Or will it continue down the path of sanctuary protections and ideological overreach?

One thing’s for sure: change is coming.
