Trump Defends Alligator Alcatraz

Florida Takes Action as President Trump Expands Immigration Crackdown with Military Support

In a major escalation of America’s border enforcement efforts, nearly 70 Florida National Guard troops have been deployed to a remote immigration detention center deep in the Everglades—now being called “Alligator Alcatraz.”

The Pentagon confirmed the mission Wednesday, with troops providing full-time security at the massive migrant detention facility located at the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport. This action follows Governor Ron DeSantis’s announcement that up to 100 troops would be sent to support the initiative.

Trump Tours Detention Site: “The Only Way Out Is Deportation”

President Donald Trump personally visited the site this week, describing it as one of the toughest, most secure immigration holding centers in the country.

“With nothing but dangerous swampland for miles around, deportation is the only real way out,” President Trump said during his visit.

The new facility is designed to hold approximately 5,000 illegal immigrants awaiting deportation orders. It is estimated to cost taxpayers $450 million annually—funded under the Trump administration’s expanded immigration enforcement strategy.

Democrats Outraged as Deportations Rise

As expected, far-left lawmakers are denouncing the move. Democrat Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) called the facility an “internment camp” and claimed it subjects migrants to “physical and psychological torture.” A group of 24 House Democrats is now calling for the site to be shut down—just days after it opened.

But many Americans—especially in Florida—support the tough-on-border approach. The migrant facility is being seen as a model of what’s possible when federal and state forces work together to enforce immigration law.

Military Surge Supports Trump’s Bold Border Strategy

This isn’t the only place where the military is stepping in. Over 8,500 active-duty troops have been deployed to the southern border, while another 5,000 have been assigned to cities like Los Angeles to provide protection for ICE agents during immigration raids.

And with Senate Republicans fast-tracking a sweeping immigration enforcement package, deportations are set to increase even further. The bill includes tens of billions in funding for border security, detention facilities, ICE operations, and the long-promised Trump border wall.

Conservatives Applaud Trump’s Leadership on Immigration

While liberal critics accuse Trump of being too harsh, conservative voters see results. From securing the southern border to restoring law and order through military-backed operations, Trump is making good on his promise to put Americans first.

As illegal crossings and drug trafficking surge under Democrat obstruction, President Trump and Governor DeSantis are stepping up—with real action and real solutions.
