Trump’s ICE Makes Major Move
CHICAGO, IL — Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has announced that the Trump administration is purchasing additional facilities in Chicago to support Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations — a bold move designed to restore order and safety in one of America’s most crime-ridden cities.
During a cabinet meeting Thursday, Secretary Noem told President Donald Trump that the administration is “doubling down” on its law-and-order mission.
“We’re purchasing more buildings in Chicago to operate out of,” Noem said. “We’re not backing off — in fact, we’re expanding to protect the good people of Chicago.”
Noem: ‘We’re Deploying More Law Enforcement Where It’s Needed Most’
Secretary Noem revealed she recently toured new sites in Chicago that could serve as operational hubs for federal agents.
“These violent riots are meant to distract us,” she said. “They want chaos to keep us from going after the murderers and rapists who terrorize the streets — but we will not be intimidated.”
According to reports from the Chicago Tribune, Noem also spoke to ICE and Border Patrol agents during a visit to an immigration processing center in Broadview, Illinois, saying, “We’re going to try to buy that building today,” while pointing to a nearby facility — signaling a rapid federal expansion.
Trump Strengthens Federal Presence Amid Rising Urban Violence
President Trump has directed hundreds of National Guard members to assist in restoring peace in major cities.
Roughly 300 Illinois National Guard troops and 400 federalized Texas Guard members have been ordered to deploy to Chicago, Portland, and other hot spots “as needed,” according to a federal memo.
However, U.S. District Judge April Perry temporarily blocked the deployment of federally activated National Guard members in Illinois, with the restraining order set to expire October 23.
Despite resistance from Democrat officials, the White House remains firm that the federal government will do whatever it takes to protect American lives and property.
Pritzker vs. Trump: Political Clash Over Law and Order
The President’s tough stance has triggered outrage from Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D), who accused Trump of being “authoritarian” after the President said Pritzker “should be in jail” for failing to protect his citizens.
Pritzker responded on X (formerly Twitter):
“I will not back down. Trump is calling for the arrest of elected officials checking his power. What else is left on the path to authoritarianism?”
But many residents — especially lifelong Chicagoans — say they’re grateful someone is finally taking action. Decades of Democrat control have turned Chicago into a national example of how liberal leadership fails to keep people safe.
Restoring Safety and Patriotism in America’s Heartland
The Trump administration’s expansion of Homeland Security and ICE facilities is being praised by conservatives as a long-overdue stand for law, order, and American values.
With crime rates soaring, many say this initiative proves that President Trump is once again putting America First — defending communities that have suffered for years under soft-on-crime policies.
“We’re fighting back for every law-abiding American family,” Noem said. “Chicago deserves peace, not politics.”
