Letitia James Doubles Down On Trump
In a stunning legal twist, New York’s Appellate Division has overturned the $527 million penalty slapped on President Donald Trump in Attorney General Letitia James’ controversial fraud case.
The appeals court called Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling “excessive,” wiping out the massive financial judgment in its entirety. This decision marks a major victory for Trump as James’ politically motivated case continues to unravel.
But James isn’t backing down. Just hours after the ruling, she issued a defiant statement:
“Donald Trump, his company, and two of his children are liable for fraud… We will seek appeal to the Court of Appeals.”
Trump Slams Case as Political Witch Hunt
Trump has always denied wrongdoing, blasting the case as “a fraud against me.” He argues that James and Engoron — both Democrats — weaponized the courts in a partisan attempt to damage him.
Originally, Engoron ordered Trump to pay $355 million. With interest, the total soared past $515 million, and when combined with penalties on Trump Organization executives, the amount topped $527 million. The appeals court struck it all down.
Unusually Long Appeal – Political Timing?
The appellate judges took nearly a year to issue their ruling — far longer than the typical timeframe — fueling speculation that politics played a role in the delay.
Now, James is vowing to push the fight to the New York Court of Appeals, keeping the legal battle alive.
Another Trump Victory in the Courts
For Trump supporters, this ruling is more proof that the left’s lawfare campaign is backfiring. Time and again, courts are beginning to reject the Democrats’ most aggressive attempts to derail his presidency.
The case is far from over, but Thursday’s decision is a bombshell win for President Trump, exposing the political motivations driving Letitia James’ relentless crusade.
