John Legend Attacks Trump
Liberal singer John Legend is back in the headlines — this time for telling President Donald Trump how to “earn” a Nobel Peace Prize, even after Trump helped broker a historic Middle East ceasefire that freed all remaining Israeli hostages.
In a video posted to Instagram, Legend said he wanted to use “positive reinforcement” to change what he called Trump’s “awful behavior.” The Grammy-winning artist claimed he wanted to “encourage” Trump to keep pursuing peace — but then launched into a long list of insults that immediately set off a backlash among conservatives.
“I want you to do this, President Trump,” Legend said. “I want this peace prize for you — for all of us.”
Even as he grudgingly credited Trump for his role in bringing peace to Gaza, Legend couldn’t resist injecting his trademark Hollywood snark. He accused Trump of “acting like a dictator” and told him to “stop declaring war on the American people.”
