Booker Running For President?
Is Sen. Cory Booker eyeing the White House again? When asked directly, the New Jersey Democrat avoided a clear answer—raising more questions than he answered.
Booker Refuses to Say If He’ll Run for President in 2028
On NBC’s Meet the Press this weekend, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) was asked point-blank if he’s planning a presidential run in 2028. NBC host Kristen Welker didn’t mince words: “Senator, yes or no, are you considering a run in 2028?”
Booker’s response was vague at best.
“Right now, my priority is the present and winning reelection in 2026,” he said. “I’ve already shared my intentions with the people of New Jersey, and I’m hopeful they’ll give me the opportunity to serve them in the Senate for another six-year term.”
While Booker tried to emphasize his Senate accomplishments, the carefully worded answer did little to silence speculation about his future presidential ambitions.
Booker Highlights Senate Record—but Critics Aren’t Convinced
Sen. Booker went on to tout his record in Washington, claiming he’s brought more federal resources back to New Jersey than any of his colleagues.
“There’s been no senator that has had a better record of bringing resources back to the state of New Jersey,” he claimed.
However, many conservative voters remain skeptical. Booker has a long history of favoring progressive policies, and critics argue his focus on social programs and anti-Trump rhetoric has done little to improve real-life conditions for working Americans.
Failed 2020 Campaign Still Haunts Him
Booker previously ran for president in 2020, but his campaign failed to gain traction—struggling with both fundraising and voter enthusiasm. Despite early media hype, his message failed to resonate with middle America, older voters, and blue-collar families.
Recently, Booker made headlines for delivering the longest speech in modern Senate history, talking for more than 25 hours straight to protest policies under former President Donald Trump. Conservatives called it political theater—heavy on drama, light on substance.
Democrats Still Searching for a 2028 Front-Runner
With President Biden’s term winding down and no clear successor in sight, the Democratic Party is quietly testing the waters for 2028. Booker’s name is being floated—but so far, he’s not committing.
For many Americans—especially those 50 and older who value strength, clarity, and results—Booker’s evasive answers may be a red flag.
Bottom Line: Is Cory Booker Running or Just Stalling?
While Sen. Booker claims to be focused on New Jersey, his political maneuvering and media appearances suggest a different story. As 2026 and 2028 approach, voters will be watching closely to see whether Booker stays true to his word—or launches another White House bid wrapped in vague promises and empty speeches.
