Trump’s Plan To Support Farmers
President Donald Trump is once again standing up for America’s heartland. On Wednesday, Trump announced that he plans to redirect billions in tariff revenue from foreign imports to support U.S. soybean farmers, who have been hit hard by China’s refusal to purchase American crops.
Trump: “We’re Using Tariffs to Protect Farmers”
“The soybean farmers of our country are being punished because China, for negotiating purposes, has stopped buying,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “We’ve taken in so much money from tariffs that we can use a portion of it to help our farmers.”
$14 Billion in Relief on the Table
Reports indicate the Trump administration is considering as much as $14 billion in emergency aid for American agriculture. The funds would come from a U.S. Department of Agriculture account, though just $4 billion currently remains available.
This move underscores how tariff policy under Trump is working to protect U.S. workers and farmers, even while China tries to play games with global trade.
China Turns to Brazil, But America Fights Back
China—once the largest buyer of American soybeans—has shifted much of its business to Brazil. That decision has rattled U.S. farmers at a time when record corn harvests are driving down prices and the costs of fuel, seed, and fertilizer continue to soar.
Despite these challenges, Trump is making it clear that his administration will not abandon the agricultural community that feeds the nation.
White House: Farmers Are the Backbone of Trump’s Victory
White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly told The Wall Street Journal that President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins remain in constant contact about farm issues.
“Our farmers played a decisive role in the president’s November victory,” Kelly said. “He has made it clear that tariff revenue will be used to support them—but the details are still being finalized.”
Bottom Line: Trump Puts America First, China Second
For America’s farmers, the message is clear: President Trump is putting American workers, American food, and American sovereignty first. While China tries to weaken the U.S. economy, Trump is using the power of tariffs to protect the men and women who keep food on our tables.
