Democrats Facing Much Bigger Problems

In the 2024 election, Democrats outraised and outspent President Donald J. Trump by massive margins — pouring over $1 billion into their campaign war chest. But despite their financial advantage, they still lost power in a decisive defeat.

Now, Democrat insiders and donors are sounding the alarm: money wasn’t the issue — the message was.

“You Can’t Buy Your Way Out of Failure”

Democrat strategist Joel Payne admitted what many in his party have been whispering behind closed doors. “You can’t spend your way out of this political crisis,” he said. “It’s deeper than dollars.”

The 2024 election made it clear: voters are rejecting the Democrat agenda, no matter how much cash they burn to sell it.

Donors Are Fed Up — And Closing Their Wallets

With the 2026 midterms looming, some of the Democrat Party’s biggest donors are saying “enough is enough.” They’re refusing to fund another round of losing campaigns unless leadership changes course.

“Winning is what brings in the money,” said John Morgan, a longtime Democrat megadonor. “When your team keeps losing, even the season ticket holders stop showing up.”

Morgan called for a sharp shift in strategy — urging Democrats to focus on a few key congressional battlegrounds instead of spreading money thin across unwinnable races.

“Put your money in toss-up seats,” he said. “That has to be priority number one.”

But even Morgan warned that Democrats need patience and discipline — two things in short supply within a party that’s struggling to reconnect with everyday Americans.

Democrat Disunity: Big Money, No Leadership

Frustration is boiling over. One major donor, who has refused to contribute since the 2024 loss, said bluntly:

“Why would I donate when we’re losing everything? The airwaves, the tech front, the ground game. They haven’t shown any signs of learning from their mistakes.”

And while everyday Americans face rising costs and economic uncertainty, Democrat operatives were recently caught holding strategy sessions at luxury resorts.

A New York Times report revealed that Future Forward, the super PAC behind Joe Biden’s failed re-election effort, hosted a retreat at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California. Topics included how to better appeal to working-class men — while sipping cocktails in five-star accommodations.

Attendees included California Governor Gavin Newsom and Kentucky’s Andy Beshear — both reportedly eyeing the 2028 race.

Leadership Vacuum: “We Don’t Have a Leader”

Inside the party, confidence in leadership has cratered. Donors say they’ve “given up” on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and question whether House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has what it takes to lead.

“We’re throwing money at bad ads, outdated data, and strategies that don’t work,” one donor said. “Meanwhile, the GOP has Trump — a proven leader with unmatched energy and unlimited support.”

That donor didn’t hold back:

“They’re going to have more money than God — because they have Trump. He’s not just the face of the movement. He’s the engine behind it. And he’s not done fighting.”

Democrat Voter Morale in Free Fall

Polls confirm the growing discontent. An AP-NORC poll from March 2025 found that just one-third of Democrats felt optimistic about their party’s future — a steep drop from the 60% confidence level reported in July 2024.

Even longtime party strategists are admitting the truth. Garry South, a veteran Democrat consultant, pointed to Vice President Kamala Harris’s massive campaign funding as proof:

“Harris raised more than a billion dollars — and still lost. It’s like trying to sell cat food the cats won’t eat.”

Bottom Line:
Democrats had the cash. They had the consultants. They had Hollywood, Big Tech, and the media on their side.
But in 2024, they didn’t have the message — and they didn’t have the voters.

Meanwhile, President Trump’s America First movement continues to thrive — powered not by elites, but by millions of patriotic Americans ready to take their country back in 2026 and beyond.
