VIDEO: Republican Governor Throws Trump Under The Bus
In a surprising turn of events, Arkansas Republican Governor Asa Hutchinson expressed anger and resentment towards former President Donald Trump after it was learned that he held a meeting with rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and political strategist Nick Fuentes.
In transcript provided by Daily Kos, CNN’s Dana Bash held very strong words for Ye and Nick Fuentes who she referred to as a white nationalist and asked, “Trump insisted Friday that he hadn’t previously known Fuentes. But a source tells CNN he found the white supremacist, quote, very interesting, particularly scientists, his ability to rattle off statistics and data and his familiarity with Trump. … What’s your reaction to seeing a former U.S. president associate with someone like that?”
Governor Hutchinson threw Trump under the bus and hoped that he would become irrelevant someday so news reporters wouldn’t have to focus on him anymore.
Hutchinson responded, “Well, I hope someday we won’t have to be responding to what former President Trump has said or done. And this instance, it’s important to respond. I don’t think it’s a good idea for a leader that’s setting an example for the country or the party to meet with an avowed racist or anti-Semite. And so it’s very troubling, and it shouldn’t happen. And we need to avoid those kinds of empowering extremes. When you meet with people, you empower, and that’s what you have to avoid. You want to diminish their strength, not empower them. Stay away from it.”
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson tells Dana Bash on CNN on Trump dining with a Nazi: “I hope someday we won’t have to be responding to what former President Trump has said or done … this was not an accidental meeting.”
