Trump Closer To Achieving Peace
President Donald Trump revealed Sunday that he has been engaged in positive discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as he pushes for a possible end to the war in Eastern Europe.
Speaking during an interview on Fox News’ The Sunday Briefing, Trump said efforts are continuing behind the scenes to reach a settlement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Trump Says Peace Efforts Are Underway
According to Trump, negotiations remain active and he is hopeful progress can be made soon.
“We’re working on the Russia and Ukraine situation, and hopefully we’re going to get it done,” Trump said.
The president did not disclose when he last spoke directly with Putin, but he confirmed he has maintained communication with both leaders.
“I have conversations with him, and I also have conversations with President Zelenskyy — good conversations,” Trump said.
Trump Highlights Biggest Obstacle to Peace
Trump said one of the toughest challenges is the deep hostility between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders after years of war.
He described the anger between Putin and Zelenskyy as extreme, saying that level of resentment makes peace talks more difficult. Still, Trump expressed confidence that a deal can eventually be reached.
Ukraine War Remains Global Focus
The Russia-Ukraine war began in February 2022 and has continued for years, costing thousands of lives and creating major economic pressure around the world. Rising energy prices, taxpayer-funded foreign aid, and global instability have remained top concerns for many Americans.
Trump has repeatedly argued that stronger leadership and direct diplomacy are the best ways to end the conflict quickly.
Conservatives Praise America-First Approach
Many conservative voters have supported Trump’s strategy of engaging both sides while putting American interests first. Backers say endless spending and prolonged war are not solutions, and that serious negotiations are needed.
Trump’s latest comments are likely to fuel renewed debate over foreign policy, peace talks, military spending, and America’s role overseas.
What Happens Next?
With tensions still high, the coming weeks could be critical. If negotiations advance, Trump may be positioned to deliver one of the most significant foreign policy victories of his presidency.
For millions of Americans watching closely, the biggest question now is whether peace could finally be within reach.
