This is never okay.

A shocking case of political extremism erupted this week after a 50-year-old woman was arrested and charged with making violent threats against President Donald Trump. Prosecutors say her disturbing messages and actions left no doubt about her intent — and now she faces serious federal charges.

Disturbing Social Media Posts Spark Alarm

Authorities revealed that Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, posted numerous threats on social media targeting President Trump. In one post, she threatened to “sacrificially” kill the President using a bladed weapon, even referencing a bizarre “ceremony” involving former Rep. Liz Cheney.

Federal prosecutor Jeanine Pirro stated Monday that Jones had journeyed from New York to Washington, D.C., fueling fears she intended to follow through on her threats.

Direct Threats Against the Commander-in-Chief

In an August 14 post, Jones went further by urging Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to arrange President Trump’s arrest and removal, calling him a “terrorist on the American people.”

The Secret Service, which had already been monitoring her social media activity, took immediate action and scheduled an interview with Jones the next day.

Secret Service Interview Reveals Chilling Intent

During her interview, Jones allegedly admitted that if given the opportunity, she would “carry out her mission of killing President Trump” at the White House “compound” with a weapon. She claimed her motivation was to “avenge lives lost during COVID-19” and used inflammatory terms like “terrorist” and “nazi” to describe the President.

Even after later trying to downplay her intentions, Jones was arrested on August 16 after taking part in a protest near the White House.

Federal Charges Filed

Prosecutors say Jones now faces several serious charges, including:

  • Threatening the life of the President of the United States
  • Threatening to kidnap or cause harm
  • Transmitting threats across state lines

“These crimes will be prosecuted swiftly and without hesitation,” U.S. Attorney Pirro stated. “Threatening the President is one of the gravest offenses — and justice will be served.

Why It Matters for America

This disturbing case highlights the growing dangers of politically motivated violence. With President Trump once again in the crosshairs of unhinged activists, it shows how extreme rhetoric can inspire dangerous behavior.

Federal law enforcement made clear that such threats will not be tolerated — and that President Trump’s safety, and the safety of America’s institutions, remains a top priority.
