New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is making headlines after revealing the “weirdest thing” he spotted during his recent visit to President Donald Trump’s White House. And his answer is surprising a lot of people.

During a sit-down on The Adam Friedland Show, the far-left Democrat described what he saw while waiting to meet with President Trump. As he looked around the room, one item immediately caught his eye: a coffee-table book titled “UFC at the White House.”

Mamdani admitted he had no idea that a major UFC event was being planned for next June. He said he flipped through the book out of curiosity and saw full visual mock-ups of a UFC fight night taking place directly on the White House lawn. According to Mamdani, he does not plan on attending.

Despite their political differences, Mamdani also acknowledged that President Trump personally guided him on a brief tour. He was shown the Oval Office, the Cabinet Room, and the portraits of past presidents — a tradition Trump continues as part of showcasing American history and leadership.

The White House has not yet responded to questions regarding Mamdani’s comments.

Meanwhile, UFC President and CEO Dana White — one of President Trump’s strongest and most loyal allies — has already teased the “greatest fight card ever assembled” for next summer’s potential event. The idea is part of the broader America250 celebration, marking the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.

President Trump spoke about the celebration this past July, reminding Americans that every national park, battlefield, and historic site will host special events. He emphasized that even the White House lawn could host a historic UFC fight, noting, “We have a lot of land there.”

Trump attended a UFC event in Newark earlier this year, continuing his long-standing, well-documented support for the sport and for his friend Dana White — a relationship that many conservatives view as a refreshing example of loyalty in public life.
