Here’s what Trump is planning.
Major Immigration Shift Set to Begin July 27
In a move that’s sending shockwaves through the political and legal world, President Donald Trump’s administration is preparing to enforce a new executive order ending birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants — and it could take effect as soon as July 27.
This bold action follows a major Supreme Court ruling that cleared the way for implementation, despite fierce opposition from left-wing advocacy groups and Democrat-controlled states.
Trump’s Order Targets Birthright Citizenship Loophole
“President Trump, on his first day of his second term, issued an executive order instructing all federal agencies to deny automatic U.S. citizenship to children born to illegal immigrants—unless one parent is either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident.”
Supporters say this long-overdue change closes a massive immigration loophole that has allowed hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants to anchor their status by having children on American soil.
Supreme Court Clears Path for Enforcement
After months of legal battles, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to limit nationwide injunctions, stripping lower courts of their ability to block federal policy nationwide. While the court didn’t rule directly on the order’s constitutionality, the decision effectively removed the biggest obstacle to enforcement.
Justice Department lawyer Brad Rosenberg confirmed that while the administration will honor the 30-day stay, preparations to roll out the new policy are already underway.
“We are actively developing public guidance to implement the President’s directive,” Rosenberg stated in Tuesday’s court filing.
Left-Wing Groups Scramble to Block the Order
The usual suspects — including the ACLU and CASA — rushed over the weekend to refile lawsuits as class action cases, trying to halt the policy before it takes effect.
In Monday’s emergency court hearing, Judge Deborah Boardman, an appointee of President Biden, pressed administration officials for clarity. She asked whether the government would begin deporting children once the order is active.
Federal attorneys stated that no enforcement will begin before July 27, but confirmed that preparations are in motion now.
22 States Oppose Trump’s Plan – But Millions of Americans Support It
More than 22 Democrat-led states and pro-immigration groups have challenged the executive order, claiming it’s unconstitutional and “unprecedented.” But millions of conservative Americans argue the policy is not only legal — it’s necessary.
Roughly 150,000 children are born each year in the U.S. to noncitizen parents, according to estimates. Critics say this policy could prevent future abuse of taxpayer-funded services and discourage illegal immigration.
“Our clients are scared and confused,” said CASA attorney William Powell. “We can’t tell them the order is fully blocked — because it’s not.”
Conservatives Cheer Trump’s America-First Vision
President Trump’s move has been hailed by conservatives as a powerful stand for national sovereignty, immigration reform, and constitutional integrity.
Ending birthright citizenship has long been a top priority for grassroots conservatives, and this historic executive order marks the most serious challenge to that policy in over a century.
With guidance from federal agencies expected soon, and enforcement beginning in late July, Trump is delivering yet another America First promise — and shaking up Washington in the process.
