This is shocking and unacceptable.
A growing backlash against the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) erupted this week after Evita Duffy-Alfonso — daughter of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy — publicly described what she called a humiliating and invasive airport security experience while pregnant.
In multiple posts on X, Duffy-Alfonso accused the TSA of violating Americans’ constitutional rights and urged lawmakers to abolish the agency altogether. She tagged Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, arguing that TSA screening practices amount to unreasonable searches prohibited under the Fourth Amendment.
Pregnant Traveler Says TSA Went Too Far
According to Duffy-Alfonso, the incident occurred when she declined to walk through a TSA body scanner because she is pregnant and wanted to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure. Instead of accommodating her request quickly, she said TSA agents forced her to wait roughly 15 minutes for a pat-down, nearly causing her to miss her flight.
She described the agents as dismissive and passive-aggressive, claiming they attempted to pressure both her and another pregnant woman into using the scanner by insisting it was “safe.” After eventually undergoing what she called an “absurdly invasive” pat-down, she barely made it onto her flight.
“All of this,” she argued, “for an agency that treats law-abiding Americans like suspects.”
Privacy Concerns and Biometric Data Raise Alarm
Duffy-Alfonso also criticized the expanding use of biometric screening programs at U.S. airports, questioning why travelers should be expected to hand over sensitive personal data to private companies simply to move through security faster.
She warned that convenience should never come at the cost of privacy, comparing modern air travel to a dystopian system where Americans must surrender bodily autonomy and personal data just to exercise their right to travel freely within their own country.
Her remarks echo long-standing concerns among conservatives about government overreach, surveillance, and the steady erosion of civil liberties in the name of security.
TSA and DHS Respond
In a statement provided to Fox News Digital, the TSA said it was aware of the incident and takes complaints seriously, noting that all reports are reviewed to ensure proper screening procedures are followed.
The Department of Homeland Security issued the same response when contacted.
Duffy-Alfonso later clarified that the TSA operates under DHS authority, not her father’s direct control. She added that if it were up to him, he would significantly reduce the agency’s scope and push Congress to dismantle it altogether.
Strong Support for Trump — With a Warning
Despite her sharp criticism of the TSA, Duffy-Alfonso made clear that she strongly supports President Trump and Secretary Noem’s national security agenda. She praised the administration’s aggressive border enforcement and efforts to stop illegal immigration and terrorism, saying those achievements deserve far more recognition.
At the same time, she argued that protecting the country does not require treating American citizens — especially expectant mothers — as threats.
“There needs to be more common sense,” she wrote, adding that Americans should be able to travel without intimidation or unnecessary intrusion while still maintaining strong security standards.
Political Spotlight on the Family
The controversy comes as Duffy-Alfonso’s husband, Michael Alfonso, is running for Congress in Wisconsin. Her mother, Rachel Campos-Duffy, is a longtime conservative media figure and co-host of “FOX & Friends Weekend,” ensuring the story continues to draw national attention.
As frustration with airport security grows, the debate over TSA practices, privacy rights, and government overreach is likely far from over — especially under an administration promising a return to common sense and constitutional governance.
