Democrats are furious.
President Trump is cracking down hard on illegal immigration — and now, Republican-led states are answering the call with bold new detention efforts inspired by Florida’s controversial new migrant facility.
Located deep in the Everglades and known as “Alligator Alcatraz,” this high-security detention center is rapidly becoming the blueprint for how red states can help Trump take back control of the southern border.
And the movement is spreading.
Florida Sets the Example with “Alligator Alcatraz”
With support from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, “Alligator Alcatraz” was built under emergency authority to house up to 5,000 illegal immigrants, many with violent criminal histories.
President Trump toured the facility Tuesday with DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Governor DeSantis, calling it a “game-changer” in the war against illegal immigration.
“This place is surrounded by treacherous swamp and alligators. The only way out… is deportation,” Trump said.
Red States Step Up to Secure the Border
Georgia Goes Big: Largest Detention Center in the U.S.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is leading the charge, announcing a partnership to build the largest immigration detention facility in America.
Georgia has already banned sanctuary cities and directed its law enforcement to work directly with ICE. Now, the state is expanding detention efforts to support President Trump’s mass deportation plan.
Arkansas: 3,000-Bed Prison Underway
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is working closely with Trump to enforce tough new immigration laws and build a brand-new 3,000-bed prison for detaining criminal illegal aliens.
Earlier this year, she signed the Defense Against Criminal Illegals Act, enhancing penalties and boosting law enforcement coordination with federal agencies.
South Carolina: Ready to Join the Fight
Governor Henry McMaster, who chairs Trump’s Homeland Security Advisory Council, confirmed his state is actively exploring new options to aid the deportation effort.
“South Carolina’s law enforcement is already working hand-in-hand with the Trump administration,” his spokesman said.
Texas: 4,000 Detention Beds Already Offered
Everything’s bigger in Texas — and that includes their immigration response.
Governor Greg Abbott has already provided 4,000 detention beds to federal authorities and directed state agencies to locate even more facilities. Texas continues to be on the front lines of the border security battle.
Idaho and Alaska Signal Support
Idaho Governor Brad Little has signed a 287(g) agreement with ICE, authorizing state troopers to help detain and transport illegal immigrants for deportation. Alaska officials, meanwhile, joked they don’t have alligators — but they do have bears — and expressed interest in similar solutions.
Trump White House: Build More “Alligator Alcatraz” Facilities
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller called on every Republican governor to follow Florida’s lead.
“We want every red state to build detention centers. Get the criminals out. Put Americans first,” Miller said. “Democrats love illegal aliens. We love American citizens.”
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson added that Alligator Alcatraz is exactly the kind of facility America needs right now:
“This is a model of how we get violent criminals off the streets and out of our country.”
DeSantis: It’s Time for Every Red State to Step Up
Appearing on Sean Hannity, Governor DeSantis didn’t hold back:
“If every red state builds a version of Alligator Alcatraz, we can start mass deportations. We can fix the mess Biden created,” DeSantis said.
Bottom Line: Trump’s Deportation Plan Is Taking Off
With Trump back in charge, the days of sanctuary cities and open borders may soon be numbered. From Georgia to Idaho, Republican states are finally fighting back against the border crisis — and putting law-abiding American citizens first.
