Here’s what conservatives need to know.
Washington, D.C. — Just days after a fiery public dispute between tech entrepreneur Elon Musk and President Donald J. Trump, signs are emerging that the feud may be winding down — and possibly heading toward reconciliation.
“We had a great relationship, and I wish him well — very well, actually,” President Trump told reporters from the White House on Monday.
The clip, quickly shared by conservative influencer ALX on X, drew swift attention. In response, Musk posted a heart emoji — a simple but powerful gesture indicating the ice may be thawing between the two influential voices of American innovation and conservative leadership.
Musk Attacks Wasteful Government Spending
The drama began over the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a massive federal spending initiative projected to add $3 trillion to the national deficit. Musk didn’t mince words.
“Outrageous. Pork-filled. A disgusting abomination,” Musk declared on social media.
He urged Republican lawmakers to “kill the bill” — warning that the measure would funnel billions into pet projects and bureaucracy while everyday Americans suffer under inflation and economic mismanagement.
The tech mogul also voiced frustration during a taped interview with CBS, appearing visibly angry about the direction of Washington’s spending priorities.
Accusations Fly Over NASA Nominee and Epstein Files
On June 5, Musk escalated further — accusing the White House of burying files related to Jeffrey Epstein and taking credit for President Trump’s 2024 re-election victory. The now-deleted posts also expressed outrage over Trump’s decision to pull the nomination of Jared Isaacman, a decorated private astronaut and Musk ally, as NASA administrator.
“Elon went crazy,” President Trump later said. “He lost his mind.”
Amid talk of cutting off government contracts to Musk’s companies, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO threatened to shut down the Dragon spacecraft, the U.S. government’s primary vehicle for human space travel. Musk eventually walked back the threat, but the message had been sent.
Signs of Respect and Shared Values
Despite the heated exchange, Musk has continued amplifying Trump’s messages — especially on law and order, a key concern for conservative voters.
Musk reposted a Truth Social post where President Trump slammed Democrat leaders in California for failing to control violent riots in Los Angeles.
“Governor Gavin Newsom and ‘Mayor’ Karen Bass should apologize for the absolutely horrible job they’ve done,” Trump wrote.
Musk also boosted Vice President JD Vance’s statement promising to restore law and order:
“This moment calls for decisive leadership,” Vance declared. “The president will not tolerate rioting and violence.”
Will Trump and Musk Join Forces Again?
As America prepares for the 2026 midterms and a critical presidential term under Trump, the possibility of a renewed alliance with Musk could strengthen the administration’s push for space innovation, economic revival, and government reform.
Both men command vast influence: Trump in the political arena, and Musk in the world of tech, space, and media.
Whether this truce lasts or flares up again remains to be seen. But for now, conservative Americans can appreciate that two champions of American innovation and leadership appear to be back on speaking terms.
