Could a Washington, D.C., pizza shop really turn away President Donald Trump?
That’s the question causing a stir after a liberal food magazine hinted that a popular pizzeria might face a political firestorm if the 45th President stopped by for a visit.
Liberal Media Suggests “No-Win” Situation
Jessica Sidman, a food editor at the Washingtonian, published a piece claiming that any restaurant in the nation’s capital would be stuck in a “losing situation” if President Trump came to eat there.
Sidman even called out Menomale Pizzeria, a local hotspot, as an example — reminding readers that the restaurant faced boycott threats last November simply for congratulating Trump after his 2024 election victory.
She wrote:
“Most restaurants would likely serve him, as that’s simply part of their business. However, they’d almost certainly face boycott threats from locals along with intense backlash both online and in person.”
In other words, the message was clear: serve Trump and face the wrath of the woke mob.
Pizzeria Owner Fires Back: ‘We’d Be Honored To Serve Trump’
But Menomale Pizzeria’s owner, Mariya Rusciano, isn’t backing down.
Instead of caving to cancel culture, she proudly defended her restaurant’s position — saying turning away a sitting president would be deeply disrespectful to millions of Americans.
On her shop’s official X account, she posted:
“It would be wrong to turn away the President of the United States. Doing so would also dismiss the voices of millions of Americans who cast their votes differently. Our doors are open to everyone, and it would truly be an honor to welcome the President.”
She even added a lighthearted jab about Trump’s famous pizza-eating style, saying,
“We’ve also heard that President Trump enjoys his pizza with a fork and knife — just like a traditional Neapolitan would.”
Standing Up To Cancel Culture
Speaking exclusively with Fox News Digital, Rusciano doubled down on her defense of Trump and called for civility and unity in a divided city.
“We do not want to be associated with the notion that a D.C. business should fear welcoming the president,” she explained. “Quite the opposite is true — it would be a privilege!”
Rusciano admitted there was some backlash after her congratulatory post last year, including calls for boycotts and online name-calling.
However, she said the messages of support far outweighed the negativity.
“Even here in D.C., people are tired of the hate and division,” she said.
“We received overwhelming encouragement, proving that many Americans want to move beyond the divisive rhetoric and show respect for one another.”
A Message Conservatives Can Rally Behind
Rusciano’s bold stance sends a powerful message: Americans shouldn’t live in fear of political intimidation.
At a time when many businesses are pressured to comply with far-left boycotts, her willingness to welcome President Trump with open arms is a rare example of courage and principle in Washington, D.C.
This story is more than just about pizza — it’s about freedom, unity, and standing up for what’s right in the face of division.
Bottom Line:
While some in the media would love to see President Trump treated like an outcast, this D.C. business owner is showing that respect and civility still matter. And for many Americans, that’s a message worth sharing.
