Trump is done with insane Democrat policies.

FRESNO, CA — President Donald Trump is doubling down on his vow to defend fairness in women’s sports — and California is in the crosshairs.

In a direct warning to the Golden State, Trump announced that federal funding for California schools may be cut off if the state continues allowing biological males to compete in female athletic competitions. The message comes as tensions rise ahead of this weekend’s high school state championships.

“California, under Radical Left Democrat Gavin Newsom, is violating basic fairness by letting men compete in women’s sports,” Trump posted on Truth Social Tuesday. “This is not just unfair — it’s illegal and demeaning to women and girls.”

Trump added that if necessary, he would authorize local authorities to prevent transgender athletes from competing in girls’ divisions during the upcoming finals. His message also precedes a planned phone call with Governor Newsom.

At the center of the controversy is AB Hernandez, a high school athlete born male who now identifies as a transgender female. Hernandez recently took first place in the girls’ long jump and triple jump at a regional meet — and is now expected to compete at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Championships in Fresno this weekend.

Trump was blunt in his assessment:

“As a male, this athlete was below average. As a female competitor, nearly unbeatable. This is not competition — it’s biological injustice.”

Trump’s Executive Order: Protecting Women’s Sports Nationwide

Earlier this year, President Trump signed a sweeping executive order making it clear: any state allowing biological males to compete in female sports risks losing federal education funding. The order cites Title IX — a federal civil rights law prohibiting sex-based discrimination in schools.

California isn’t the first state to face the administration’s pressure. In February, Maine was targeted after its policies came under fire. The Department of Education opened a Title IX investigation, threatening over $250 million in federal funding. Governor Janet Mills was later forced to enter negotiations to prevent permanent funding cuts.

Now, with California following a similar path, Trump is making it clear that his administration will act decisively to protect the integrity of women’s athletics.

Even Newsom Acknowledged the Unfairness

Adding to the drama, Governor Newsom himself recently admitted during a podcast with conservative host Charlie Kirk that allowing transgender athletes in girls’ sports is “deeply unfair.”

President Trump seized on that rare moment of agreement:

“Even the Governor admitted it’s unfair. I’ll be speaking with him today to see where he really stands,” Trump said. “Until then, I’m ready to take action. If California won’t act, I will.”

What’s at Stake?

At stake is millions in federal education funding, the future of fair competition in girls’ athletics, and the broader debate over transgender policies in American schools.

With the CIF finals approaching fast, Trump’s administration is sending a clear message to every state: comply with federal law or face serious consequences.

As this high-profile standoff unfolds, it’s clear that President Trump is standing firmly on the side of biological reality, fair play, and the protection of young women in sports.
