Trump isn’t playing games.

President Donald Trump issued a blunt warning Sunday about Iran’s leadership as the military campaign known as Operation Epic Fury moves into its second week.

Speaking during an interview with ABC News, Trump suggested that Iran’s emerging leadership will struggle to maintain power without cooperation from the United States.

Trump said that Iran’s leader would ultimately need the United States’ backing to remain in power, warning that without that support, his time in charge would likely be short-lived.

The president added that his administration is focused on preventing the kind of long-term instability that has repeatedly led to global security threats over the past several decades.

Trump Warns Iran’s Leadership About Future Threats

Trump made it clear that his goal is to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power and to stop future American presidents from facing the same crisis again.

“We want to make sure we don’t have to come back every ten years and deal with the same problem,” Trump said. “Especially if you don’t have a president willing to take action.”

He continued by stressing that allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons would create serious dangers not only for the United States, but for allies across the Middle East.

“I don’t want people to have to deal with this again in five years,” Trump said. “And the worst possible outcome would be letting them obtain a nuclear weapon.”

Iran’s Leadership Transition Faces Obstacles

Inside Iran, uncertainty remains about who could ultimately lead the country if political changes occur.

According to comments reported by Mehr News Agency, Iranian cleric Mohammadmehdi Mirbaqeri acknowledged that the leadership selection process still faces “several obstacles.”

Mirbaqeri serves on the powerful Assembly of Experts, the group responsible for appointing the country’s supreme leader. The position carries sweeping authority over Iran’s government, military forces, and nuclear policy.

Trump Open to Alternative Leadership in Tehran

During the interview, Trump also indicated he would be open to the possibility of a leader with ties to Iran’s former political system if it helped stabilize the country and reduce global tensions.

“I would consider it if it meant choosing a good leader,” Trump said. “There are numerous people who could qualify.”

His comments suggest that the United States could support leadership in Tehran that moves away from aggressive policies and focuses instead on regional stability.

Israel Sends Strong Warning to Iran

Meanwhile, Israel Katz issued a stark warning aimed at Iran’s leadership and any future successor.

In a message posted on X, Katz warned that anyone who threatens Israel, the United States, or other allied nations would become an immediate target.

“It does not matter what his name is or the place where he hides,” Katz wrote. “Anyone who seeks to destroy Israel, threaten the United States, or suppress the Iranian people will be an unequivocal target.”

Growing Global Tensions

The escalating conflict has drawn international attention as the situation in the Middle East continues to evolve. Analysts say the coming weeks could determine whether Iran shifts its leadership approach or faces continued military and diplomatic pressure from Western allies.

For now, Trump’s message appears clear: the United States intends to ensure that Iran never obtains nuclear weapons and that any future leadership in Tehran understands the consequences of threatening America and its allies.
