The View is crying again.

Liberal co-hosts on ABC’s The View are in full meltdown mode after Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor made a statement about President Donald Trump that left them “terrified” — sparking a wave of speculation and fear among the show’s panel of Trump critics.

During a recent episode of The View: Behind The Table podcast, co-host Sunny Hostin admitted she was “scared” by what Justice Sotomayor said when asked about the possibility of Trump serving a third term in the White House.

Hostin explained that while Sotomayor confirmed the 22nd Amendment limits presidents to two terms, she also acknowledged that the rule has never been legally tested in court — a fact that sent Hostin and her co-hosts into a frenzy.

“It scared me,” Hostin confessed. “She said the Constitution should be the highest law of the land — should be. The way she clarified it really worried me.”

Trump Fuels Liberal Panic With Third Term Comments

This heated discussion comes after President Trump himself teased the idea of a third term earlier this year.

In a March 2025 phone interview with NBC News, Trump said he wasn’t joking when discussing the possibility:

“Many people have been urging me to consider it,” Trump said. “But there’s still a long road ahead, and we’re only at the very start of this administration.”

Sotomayor’s Shocking Response

On Tuesday’s broadcast of The View, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin directly asked Sotomayor whether Trump seeking a third term was truly off the table, given the 22nd Amendment.

Sotomayor’s response stunned the panel:

“The Constitution is settled law. No one has ever tried to challenge it. Until somebody tries, you don’t know. So, it’s not settled because there’s never been a court case on that issue. But the Constitution is the supreme law of the United States.”

This candid answer left Hostin deeply unsettled because it suggested the possibility — however remote — that a legal challenge could arise in the future.

“Supreme Court justices are usually very guarded,” Hostin said. “Her answer about whether Donald Trump could seek a third term — even though the Constitution prevents it — was shocking. She clearly said it’s never been tested.”

Liberal Media Fearmongering

Joy Behar, another staunch Trump critic on the panel, immediately jumped in to attack Trump, claiming he has “never followed the rules” and warning that if anyone could push the limits of the Constitution, it would be him.

Behar ranted:

“Anything he does overwhelms or overtakes the Constitution because he doesn’t follow the rules. No one has ever done the things he’s done before.”

This episode is the latest example of how Hollywood elites and liberal media figures continue to stoke fear and division, trying to paint Trump as a dictator rather than a strong leader fighting for the American people.

Why This Matters for Conservatives

The left’s obsession with Trump shows just how terrified they are of his America First agenda. While liberal TV hosts panic over hypothetical scenarios, millions of hardworking Americans support Trump’s efforts to secure the border, rebuild the economy, and stand up to foreign adversaries.

With the Supreme Court already at the center of several major constitutional battles, this exchange highlights the growing tension between liberal activists, conservative voters, and Trump’s historic presidency.
