Some conservatives have found issue with Trump’s latest bold move.
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter raised concerns about the arrest of a pro-Palestinian advocate on free speech grounds earlier this week, questioning whether such an action violated First Amendment rights. Coulter, known for her outspoken views, took to social media to express her thoughts, noting, “There is almost nobody I do not want to deport, but unless they have committed some form of crime, is this not a violation of our First Amendment rights?”
Her comments came in response to a report from the New York Post, which highlighted how a pro-Israel group, Betar, was collecting the names of international students who had participated in pro-Palestinian protests. These students, many of whom rely on visas to study in the United States, could face pressure to return to their home countries under the Trump administration’s stance on national security.
The controversy intensified over the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student and green card holder, who played a prominent role in organizing pro-Palestinian protests. He was apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the weekend.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio took to social media to announce that supporters of Hamas—designated as a terrorist organization—would face visa revocations or deportation. President Trump echoed this sentiment, calling for the identification and deportation of individuals involved in pro-terrorism activities. He also emphasized the importance of safeguarding national and foreign policy interests, stating that individuals who support terrorism, including those advocating violence against innocent civilians, have no place in America.
Betar, the pro-Israel group behind the push for deportation, confirmed their efforts to track individuals supporting terrorist ideologies, asserting that support for Hamas is, in itself, a criminal act. They argued that the First Amendment should not protect individuals who back terrorism, labeling such actions as a threat to U.S. security and values.
While Coulter questioned the legality of deporting individuals based on their views, others, particularly conservative figures, see such measures as a necessary step to defend American values and national security.
The first amendment does not include incitement to violence and rioting and destruction of property. But of course they called the riots in 2020 as mostly peaceful as cities burned. This scumbag has the right to be deported immediately.
He sure appears to be Israel’s puppet.
