Democrats are furious.

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee stormed out of a hearing Thursday in a dramatic protest after President Donald Trump’s judicial nominee, Emil Bove, advanced toward confirmation.

The meltdown unfolded just before the committee voted to send Bove’s nomination to the full Senate. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) launched into a tirade, demanding a delay over last-minute allegations tied to a whistleblower complaint. Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) declined the political theater and called for the vote — prompting Democrats to walk out in protest.

“What are you afraid of?” Booker yelled, accusing Grassley of refusing debate and bowing to pressure from the Trump administration. “This lacks decency!” he added before marching out.

Booker wasn’t alone. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) joined the performance, leveling baseless attacks against Republicans while invoking Shakespeare and claiming rule violations. Blumenthal called it “a blatant violation” of committee procedures, though Grassley quickly exposed the hypocrisy.

Democrats Did the Same Thing Under Biden

Chairman Grassley reminded the chamber that in November 2023, Democrats pushed through President Biden’s judicial picks — Mustafa Kasubhai and Eumi K. Lee — without Republican support or extended debate.

“What we did is not unprecedented,” Grassley said. “Democrats did the exact same thing last year.”

The left’s outrage appears less about process and more about blocking Trump’s effort to restore constitutional judges to the bench.

Who Is Emil Bove?

Emil Bove, a former senior DOJ official and defense attorney for Trump, has a strong legal record and a reputation for defending the rule of law. His nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit is part of Trump’s broader strategy to end judicial activism and put America’s courts back in the hands of constitutionalists.

Still, Democrat lawmakers, backed by former Obama-era officials and progressive prosecutors, are doing everything possible to derail his confirmation — with zero concern for facts or fairness.

Conservatives Applaud Trump’s Toughness

Once again, President Trump is delivering on his promise to remake the judiciary with strong, law-and-order nominees. And once again, the left is melting down, unwilling to play by the same rules they used when they held power.

Their walkout doesn’t show courage — it shows desperation.

Trump remains undeterred. And with every nominee, he’s rebuilding a court system that puts America first.
