Liberals are losing their minds.

Late-night television host Stephen Colbert used his Thursday broadcast to sharply criticize President Trump and his administration following a fatal shooting involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minneapolis earlier this week.

During his monologue, Colbert accused the administration of enforcing what he described as an “obey or die” posture toward federal law enforcement. The comments followed the death of Renee Nicole Good, who was shot during a confrontation with an ICE officer. Colbert claimed the White House was attempting to control public perception of the incident and urged Americans to voice opposition to the presence of federal agents in their cities, stressing that such opposition should remain peaceful and nonviolent.

Colbert argued that the administration alone determines what information Americans are expected to accept, suggesting that citizens are being told to trust official statements over independent reporting or video evidence. According to Colbert, the Minneapolis incident should concern Americans across the political spectrum, regardless of whether they live in red or blue states.

He warned that allowing federal agencies to operate without what he views as sufficient public scrutiny could eventually result in armed government agents acting freely within local communities. Colbert encouraged viewers to contact elected officials to express concern over federal enforcement practices.

Earlier in the show, Colbert shared his interpretation of the shooting, stating that media reports and available footage raised questions about whether deadly force was necessary. He referenced reporting that suggested Good may have been turning away from the officer as the incident unfolded, arguing that the footage appeared to show a fatal shooting on a public street.

However, administration officials strongly disputed that characterization.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem described Good as a “domestic terrorist,” stating that she allegedly used her vehicle in an attempt to seriously injure or kill federal officers at the scene.

President Donald Trump echoed that assessment in a post on Truth Social, calling Good a “professional agitator” who deliberately ran over an ICE officer. The president emphasized that the agent fired his weapon in self-defense while performing his lawful duties.

The stark contrast between Colbert’s commentary and the administration’s official account underscores the growing divide between Hollywood media figures and federal law-enforcement authorities. The incident has reignited national debate over public safety, border enforcement, and the role of federal agents — issues that continue to dominate political discussion as President Trump pushes forward with a law-and-order agenda.
