Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.), a former emergency response director under Gov. Ron DeSantis, took to MSNBC to claim Noem is “in over her head” and called for her to step aside immediately.

“She has no idea what she’s doing,” Moskowitz declared during the interview. “The best thing she can do is resign — or at least support my bill to remove FEMA from her control.”

Moskowitz is pushing legislation to strip FEMA from the Department of Homeland Security and elevate it to a Cabinet-level agency reporting directly to the president — a move critics say would only create more bureaucracy and weaken state-level control.

President Trump Backs Noem’s Rapid Flood Response

Left-wing media outlets like CNN have alleged that a FEMA policy requiring DHS approval for grants over $100,000 caused unnecessary red tape. But Noem and DHS officials say that’s a blatant misrepresentation.

“It’s fake news, plain and simple,” Noem told Fox News. “Our Coast Guard, Border Patrol, and tactical teams were deployed immediately. Every request made by Texas was met without delay.”
