This was very needed.

Golf legend Phil Mickelson is speaking out—and millions of Americans agree. The champion golfer torched Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., over his fierce opposition to a new Republican-backed bill aimed at stopping non-citizens from voting in U.S. elections.

The bill in question is the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which passed the House earlier this month in a 220-208 vote. This legislation would require in-person proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections and would direct the removal of non-citizens from the voter rolls.

For many concerned Americans—especially seniors who value law, order, and secure elections—the bill is common sense. But not for Chuck Schumer.

During a heated floor speech, Schumer attacked the SAVE Act, calling it “dangerous” and even comparing it to Jim Crow laws—a comparison critics say is not only dishonest but deeply insulting.

Schumer accused President Trump and Republican lawmakers of tightening control over the electoral process, alleging that their push for voter ID laws is a partisan attempt to manipulate the system.

But Mickelson wasn’t silent. Sharing a clip of Schumer’s speech on X (formerly Twitter), the LIV Golf star called out Schumer in blunt terms:

“In what way does this help the American people? Allowing non-citizens to vote in our elections makes no sense,” Mickelson wrote. “Schumer isn’t standing up for our country, our citizens, or what’s right. He’s betraying the nation.”

The post lit up social media—and despite backlash from the left, Mickelson refused to back down.

🚨 What’s at Stake?

If the SAVE Act is blocked in the Senate, it could mean business as usual for bloated voter rolls, weak ID laws, and loopholes that critics say undermine faith in our elections.

The bill now faces an uphill battle in the Democrat-controlled Senate, where it needs 60 votes to overcome a filibuster. Schumer declared it “dead on arrival.”

“Every single Democrat is united against it,” Schumer said. “I will not let this noxious bill become law.”
