Alina Habba, President Donald Trump’s trusted ally and acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, is facing an onslaught — not only from Democrats but shockingly from Republicans too.
On Thursday, Habba ripped into Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) after a federal judge ruled that she lacked the authority to remain in her post. Conservatives immediately recognized the move as yet another politically motivated attack designed to weaken Trump’s America First team.

Appearing on Fox News’s Hannity, Habba didn’t hold back. She blasted New Jersey Democrats Cory Booker and Andy Kim for stonewalling her nomination and slammed Grassley for hiding behind the Senate’s “blue slip” tradition — a courtesy rule Democrats have used to block strong conservative nominees.
“This isn’t law. This is obstruction,” Habba said. “Democrats and establishment Republicans are doing a disservice to the American people.”
She compared the attacks to Letitia James’s failed witch hunt in New York, accusing activist judges of twisting the law for political gain.
Judge Rules Against Habba
U.S. District Judge Matthew Brann issued a ruling declaring Habba’s appointment “not lawful.” His decision came during a federal drug trafficking case where defense lawyers challenged her authority.
But Trump supporters see it for what it is: an activist ruling designed to take down one of Trump’s most loyal fighters.
Attorney General Pam Bondi swiftly responded, praising Habba’s “incredible work” and vowing to appeal. “We will not let political judges erase the progress she has made in New Jersey,” Bondi declared.
Trump vs. Grassley: A GOP Civil War
The case has reignited a fiery clash between President Trump and Grassley. Back in July, Trump urged Senate Republicans to end the outdated “blue slip” practice, warning it was a Democrat weapon to sabotage America First candidates.
Grassley shot back, saying he was “offended” by Trump’s criticism. His refusal to back Trump’s nominee is now fueling outrage among grassroots conservatives who see it as a betrayal.
Habba Refuses to Back Down
Despite the ruling, Habba vowed to continue the fight.
“I am the choice of President Trump. I am the choice of Attorney General Bondi. And I will keep serving this country — no matter what title they try to take from me,” she said.
Her defiance comes just hours after Trump’s $500 million civil fraud penalty was thrown out by a New York appeals court — a massive victory against weaponized lawfare.
“You can try to fight us, but we will win,” Habba declared.
