Real Americans simply aren’t buying these liberal talking points.
A hard-left New York City mayoral candidate with deep ties to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is going after President Donald Trump in a bitter new fight that could shake up the city’s upcoming election.
Zohran Mamdani — a self-proclaimed socialist who has embraced AOC’s radical progressive agenda — unleashed a furious press conference Thursday, blasting Trump over reports that the President is considering stepping into the race to stop him.
“Donald Trump has not called me,” Mamdani claimed, before promising to fight the President “at every turn” and accusing him of betraying working-class New Yorkers.
Trump Weighs NYC Mayoral Move
According to The New York Times, Trump has been speaking with allies about which candidate — former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, current Mayor Eric Adams, or Republican Curtis Sliwa — has the best shot at beating Mamdani.
When asked what he would say if Trump reached out, Mamdani doubled down:
“I’m not Cuomo. I don’t cut deals with Donald Trump. I won’t pick up the phone to work together against Democrats. That’s what Cuomo did.”
Cuomo Fires Back
The feud between the two Democrats has turned nasty. On X, Cuomo mocked Mamdani’s chances against Trump:
“Donald Trump would go through you like a hot knife through butter. You’d be a dream come true for the Republican Party.”
Cuomo’s spokesperson insisted there have been no direct conversations between Trump and Cuomo about the race.
White House Response
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital:
“President Trump has no intention of getting involved or making an endorsement in the New York City mayoral race.”
Still, Mamdani escalated his rhetoric, calling himself “Donald Trump’s worst nightmare” and accusing the President of entertaining “suggestions” to deport him, arrest him, or “take control of the city over the will of New Yorkers” — a claim the White House has not confirmed.
Trump vs. Socialism — NYC on the Line
With Mamdani openly embracing socialist policies and pledging all-out war on the Trump agenda, the 2025 New York City mayoral race could turn into a major battle between President Trump’s America First movement and the radical left’s urban takeover.
For conservative New Yorkers — and the nation — the stakes couldn’t be higher.
