Obama and the Democrats are trying to get under Trump’s skin.
As millions of Americans prepare to honor Flag Day, President Donald Trump’s birthday, and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, left-wing activists are launching a campaign to turn June 14 into “Barack Obama Day” — a move that’s being slammed by conservatives as yet another effort to divide the nation and undermine American pride.
Obama Supporters Hijack June 14 with Political Gimmick
Despite Barack Obama’s real birthday being August 4, progressive activists have taken to social media to push for a June 14 celebration of the 44th president. Critics call the campaign a cheap stunt designed to distract from President Trump’s military parade and patriotic festivities.
This trend, fueled by hashtags like #ObamaDay and #AllBirthdaysMatter, first emerged in 2020 and is now making a major comeback—coinciding with over 1,800 anti-Trump protests planned nationwide on the same day.
“It’s not a coincidence. This is political theater at its worst,” one conservative commenter noted.
Trump’s Parade Honors U.S. Troops—Not Himself
While critics try to spin the event as self-serving, President Trump made it clear the parade is about honoring the military—not himself.
“I see it more as a celebration of Flag Day than of my own birthday,” President Trump said during an interview with Meet the Press. “It’s a day of real significance.”
The America250 parade is expected to draw over 200,000 attendees along Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. Roughly 6,700 U.S. troops will march—including active duty soldiers, National Guard, and special forces—many wearing historic uniforms to honor past American battles.
Massive Parade Will Temporarily Shut Down Reagan Airport
In a rare move, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will shut down for several hours to accommodate the parade, impacting more than 100 flights and thousands of travelers, according to The Washington Post.
Still, supporters say the sacrifice is worth it to honor the men and women who defend American freedom.
“President Trump is eager to join Americans in honoring the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary with a unifying parade this weekend,” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly. “We welcome all Americans to show their gratitude to the brave men and women of our armed forces.”
Left-Wing Protesters Plan Mass Disruption
While patriots gather to celebrate America’s armed forces, far-left activists plan a nationwide protest blitz with events in 1,800 cities, potentially drawing millions.
Many of these demonstrations are tied to the “Obama Day” online campaign, which critics call an orchestrated effort to steal attention from the real heroes: U.S. troops and veterans.
Obama Already Has Two Official Holidays
Adding insult to injury, Barack Obama already has two official days in his honor:
- August 4 in Illinois, where he served as a state senator
- November 10 in Perry County, Alabama, which grants government workers a paid day off
Many conservatives are asking: Why hijack June 14—Flag Day and Trump’s birthday—if not to stir division?
Bottom Line
While President Trump celebrates America’s military and unites citizens under the flag, opponents seem more focused on political games and social media stunts. June 14 should be a day to honor those who fought for freedom—not to push divisive agendas.
