California’s liberal governor Gavin Newsom is learning the hard way that blaming President Donald Trump for Washington’s chaos doesn’t fool anyone anymore — especially when Americans can see the truth for themselves.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy fired back hard Tuesday on Fox & Friends after Newsom tried to pin the government shutdown and airport delays on Trump.

“This guy’s unbelievable,” Duffy said. “Every Republican voted to keep the government open. It was Democrats who voted to shut it down — and now Newsom wants to blame Trump, who pushed a clean plan to fund the government.”

The criticism came after Hollywood Burbank Airport went several hours without air traffic controllers, causing travel delays across California. Rather than take responsibility, Newsom posted a snarky message on X:

“Appreciate it, @realDonaldTrump! Because of your government shutdown, Burbank Airport will have no air traffic controllers on duty from 4:15 p.m. to 10 p.m. today.”

But the facts don’t lie. Duffy called out Democrats for what he described as the “Schumer Shutdown” — a political stunt that’s now putting everyday Americans at risk.

“This is all because Chuck Schumer wants a political fight instead of solving the problem,” Duffy explained. “President Trump’s team offered a clean funding bill, but Democrats refused. Now air traffic controllers aren’t being paid, and travelers are suffering.”

The shutdown is already stretching into its second week, and the pressure on unpaid federal workers is growing. Many are worried about how they’ll pay their mortgages, car loans, or even buy groceries.

“The pay cycle just ended,” Duffy warned. “Controllers are looking ahead and saying, ‘I don’t see a resolution. I need to protect my family.’”

Experts say the shutdown could make America’s air traffic control shortage — already over 2,000 positions — even worse. As workers quit, the Biden-era bureaucracy has no plan to fix it.

Meanwhile, Trump’s allies say the former President tried to keep the government open, protect American workers, and prevent travel chaos — but Democrats wanted a political crisis instead.

At the end of the day, one thing is clear: Gavin Newsom and the Washington Left picked the wrong man to blame.

President Trump keeps his promises — and the American people are watching who stands for them and who stands in their way.
