This was Biden’s doing.

The liberal media has launched another attack on President Donald Trump — this time blaming him for stubbornly high grocery prices, despite years of Biden-era inflation, broken supply chains, and decades of failed trade deals that he’s working to fix.

When Trump campaigned last year, he stood before a table stacked with flour, eggs, and milk, promising to fight inflation from Day One. Since taking office in January, he’s moved to strengthen domestic food production, slash harmful regulations, and reduce America’s reliance on unstable foreign suppliers. But instead of recognizing these efforts, outlets like Nexstar are cherry-picking statistics to claim prices aren’t dropping fast enough.

The Biden-Era Price Surge Still Hurts Families

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), grocery prices have inched up 0.2% to 0.4% most months this year — a modest increase compared to the runaway inflation under Biden. The year-over-year total is about 3%, but that figure masks important details.

In many stores, shelf-stable items like boxed cookies haven’t gone up at all. Seasonal produce, such as strawberries, saw normal summer price drops. But fresh beef remains costly due to record-low cattle herds, drought conditions, high feed costs, and global market disruptions.

Egg Prices Down — Beef Still Climbing

Egg prices — which soared last year due to an avian flu outbreak — are finally falling, dropping nearly 11% from May to June this year. They remain higher than pre-pandemic levels, but the decline is welcome news for consumers.

Beef prices, however, are still rising, up more than 8% since January and over 10% year-over-year. Experts blame drought, low cattle inventory, higher production costs, and even a rare livestock parasite for the increase.

Tariffs Protect American Farmers — Critics Don’t Get It

Critics are quick to attack Trump’s new tariffs on food imports, warning they might temporarily raise prices. But these tariffs are designed to protect American farmers, reduce dependency on unstable foreign markets, and secure the nation’s food supply.

According to The Hill, about 75% of food imports — including seafood, coffee, rice, and chocolate — are impacted. While some analysts predict a short-term bump in prices, the long-term payoff is American jobs, stronger agriculture, and less reliance on global supply chains.

Americans Still Feeling the Squeeze

A recent AP-NORC poll found that 48% of Americans see grocery prices as a “major source” of stress, with another 33% calling it a “minor source.” Only 14% report no concern — a lingering sign of the Biden economy’s damage to household budgets.

Bottom line: The media’s latest attack is a distraction from the real cause of high food prices — years of reckless spending, supply chain neglect, and global dependence before Trump’s return. His America First economic plan is tackling these problems head-on, but fixing the Biden mess will take time.

President Trump’s strategy is clear: protect U.S. farmers, rebuild supply chains, and make America self-reliant again. And that’s exactly what the political establishment fears most.
