Where is the mainstream media?
The mainstream media is once again accused of burying a major political scandal—this time involving former President Barack Obama, senior intelligence officials, and the now-debunked Trump–Russia hoax.
Last week, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released declassified documents revealing what she described as “overwhelming evidence” that Obama’s inner circle manipulated intelligence in 2016 to lay the foundation for what became a years-long campaign to undermine President Donald Trump.
Despite the gravity of these revelations, ABC News and NBC News failed to cover the story on-air all weekend, according to Grabien Media transcript data. Once again, the liberal media is accused of participating in a deep state cover-up.
Gabbard’s Report: A National Bombshell Ignored
Gabbard’s documents show that months before the 2016 election, U.S. intelligence agencies consistently assessed that Russia had neither the intent nor the capability to interfere with vote tallies. There was no hard evidence that Russian cyber efforts were aimed at electing Trump.
But that narrative shifted dramatically after Trump’s victory, as senior officials under President Obama—including John Brennan, James Clapper, and James Comey—began pushing the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion narrative. Gabbard alleges this shift was politically motivated and used to justify launching the FBI’s controversial investigation into Trump’s campaign.
“What Obama and his top security officials did was subvert the will of the American people,” Gabbard told Fox News. “This was an attempted soft coup against a duly elected president.”
Media Refuses to Report
Rather than cover this potentially explosive Obama-era scandal, most major outlets either ignored the story entirely or dismissed it as partisan spin.
- CBS News gave it a brief mention during Face the Nation, where host Margaret Brennan asked Democrat Rep. Jim Himes if there was any legal basis for prosecution. Himes claimed Gabbard’s findings were a “dangerous lie” and laughed off any suggestion of wrongdoing.
- CNN covered the story just twice, and only to attack Gabbard’s credibility, with Democrat Rep. Jason Crow accusing her of trying to gain favor with Trump and deflect from the Jeffrey Epstein case.
- MSNBC openly mocked the findings, calling them “baseless” and framing the release as a distraction tactic by Republicans.
- The New York Times acknowledged Gabbard’s claims but buried them beneath Democrat pushback, calling the report “error-ridden” and “politically motivated.”
- The Washington Post waited until late Monday to mention it—and only briefly in an article claiming Trump was trying to “distract from Epstein.”
Evidence Points to Obama’s Top Officials
The documents released by Gabbard directly implicate several high-profile Obama officials:
- John Brennan (former CIA Director)
- James Clapper (former Director of National Intelligence)
- James Comey (former FBI Director)
- Susan Rice (former National Security Adviser)
These same figures now appear regularly as paid contributors on CNN and MSNBC, helping shape the media narrative on current events—including coverage of Trump and the 2024 election.
Why Is the Media Silent?
This isn’t just a political spat—it’s a direct threat to American democracy. If top officials under Obama manufactured intelligence to target a political opponent, the American people have a right to know.
The question remains: Why are legacy media outlets refusing to cover this story fairly? Why is there no outrage over the potential abuse of power at the highest levels of government?
