This is unbelievable.

In a move that’s raising eyebrows nationwide, a federal judge has temporarily blocked President Donald J. Trump’s bold effort to downsize the Department of Education—an agency many conservatives see as a bloated, unaccountable relic of big government.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Myong Joun issued an order preventing the Trump administration from proceeding with a long-overdue reduction in force at the Department. The plan, originally announced in March, aimed to streamline the agency, cut waste, and shift power back to parents and local school boards—values long championed by the America First movement.

The judge also ordered that any employees already dismissed be reinstated immediately, despite widespread support among conservative voters for eliminating government overreach in public education.

Joun’s ruling cited President Trump’s campaign promise to shut down the Department of Education, arguing that the reorganization plan was essentially a backdoor attempt to achieve that goal. He claimed that such a move requires Congressional approval, even though the Constitution grants the President executive authority over federal departments.

“The claim that this is just a reorganization doesn’t hold up,” Judge Joun wrote, dismissing the administration’s justification for improving efficiency as insufficient.

Department of Education Fires Back: ‘Far-Left Judicial Overreach’

The Department of Education wasted no time blasting the decision. In a fiery response to Fox News Digital, DOE spokesperson Madi Biedermann accused Judge Joun of overstepping his authority.

“This is a textbook example of far-left judicial activism,” Biedermann said. “President Trump and his Senate-confirmed Secretary of Education are fully within their rights to restructure a federal agency. Unelected judges should not be micromanaging executive decisions.”

She added that the Trump administration would challenge the decision immediately, calling it “a direct attack on American families and the principle of limited government.”

Second Federal Judge Blocks Trump’s Effort to Remove Bureaucrats

This ruling comes just 24 hours after another federal judge, Reggie Walton, blocked President Trump from removing two Democrat appointees from the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board—a little-known but powerful agency tasked with monitoring national security programs.

Judge Walton claimed that allowing at-will removals would undermine the board’s independence. But Trump’s legal team argued that the Constitution clearly allows the President to remove executive officials who serve under his authority.

“The President has every right to remove personnel who carry out his executive powers,” said White House spokesman Harrison Fields. “We’re confident the courts will ultimately uphold the Constitution and President Trump’s authority.”

Why This Matters: Trump vs. the Deep State

President Trump’s ongoing battle with the federal bureaucracy continues to resonate with millions of Americans who are fed up with government waste, overreach, and unelected officials standing in the way of reform. From the Department of Education to obscure oversight boards, the former President is once again facing resistance from liberal judges intent on preserving the status quo.

As the 2024 campaign heats up, Trump’s efforts to rein in Washington’s runaway agencies—and return power to the people—remain a top issue for conservative voters across the country.
