A Major Political Bombshell Unfolds as Key Biden Insider Refuses to Testify

The House Oversight Committee has now turned its focus toward First Lady Jill Biden, issuing a subpoena as part of an expanding investigation into what lawmakers are calling a potential cover-up of Joe Biden’s mental decline during his presidency.

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., Chairman of the Committee, issued the subpoena to Anthony Bernal, a longtime senior advisor to the First Lady and former Assistant to the President. Bernal had originally agreed to a voluntary interview—but abruptly backed out after the White House Counsel’s Office waived executive privilege, raising serious questions about what the Biden team may be hiding.

Was Jill Biden Involved in Hiding Joe Biden’s Condition?

“Given your close relationship with both President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, the Committee must determine whether you were part of a coordinated effort to conceal President Biden’s mental state from the American people,” Comer wrote in a formal letter delivered with the subpoena.

The Committee is exploring whether Congress should revisit the 25th Amendment to ensure presidential fitness can no longer be hidden from public scrutiny.

Biden Inner Circle Faces Growing Scrutiny

Bernal is one of five senior White House aides now under the microscope. The Committee previously subpoenaed Dr. Kevin O’Connor, President Biden’s physician, who is scheduled to testify behind closed doors on July 9.

Earlier this week, former domestic policy director Neera Tanden testified for five hours. She admitted she was authorized to direct the use of an autopen to sign executive documents—but claimed she didn’t know who gave final approval. Sources say she firmly denied any intentional deception about Biden’s cognitive state.

Two more aides, Annie Tomasini and Ashley Williams, are scheduled to testify next month. Comer says their input is critical:

“They must appear and tell the truth about President Biden’s cognitive condition and who was truly running the White House during his presidency.”

Trump Launches Official Investigation into Biden’s Presidency

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has directed his administration to conduct a parallel investigation into what he calls one of the worst deceptions in American history.

In a memo, Trump described the alleged cover-up as a “coordinated conspiracy,” claiming Americans were “intentionally misled” while Biden’s signature was used to push radical executive orders, pardons, and proclamations.

“This scandal isn’t just about Joe Biden’s decline,” Trump warned. “It’s about who was really making decisions—and whether our democracy was hijacked behind closed doors.

The Big Question: Who Was Really In Charge?

As evidence builds, the nation is left asking:

  • Did Jill Biden help shield the truth from the public?
  • Who had real control over U.S. policy during Biden’s term?
  • And how many laws were signed by someone unfit to serve?

This investigation could have historic implications for presidential oversight, the 25th Amendment, and how America safeguards executive power moving forward.
