Why so much secrecy?
Jill Biden Refuses To Come Clean in Stunning White House Cover-Up Probe
In a stunning turn of events, a top aide to Jill Biden has refused to answer explosive questions about whether President Joe Biden was mentally fit to serve—fueling new speculation of a growing White House cover-up.
Anthony Bernal, a senior advisor to the former first lady and one of the Bidens’ closest insiders, appeared before the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday. But instead of testifying, he invoked his Fifth Amendment rights—refusing to answer any questions from Republican investigators digging into signs of Joe Biden’s serious mental decline.
Bernal’s silence speaks volumes.
He had been subpoenaed after skipping a previously scheduled interview. But when questioned behind closed doors, Bernal reportedly refused to even confirm whether President Biden was capable of fulfilling his constitutional duties—or if unelected individuals, like family members, were quietly calling the shots in his place.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) didn’t hold back.
“Anthony Bernal is stonewalling. He took the Fifth when asked if Joe Biden ever told him to lie about the President’s health,” Comer revealed. “The American people deserve answers.”
Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) added:
“If Biden wasn’t running his own administration, then every order he signed is now in question. This is corruption at the highest level.”
The investigation is zeroing in on whether Biden’s staff—and even Jill Biden herself—may have played a role in hiding signs of the President’s cognitive and physical decline. Shockingly, Comer has raised concerns that some executive actions may have been authorized via autopen—without Joe Biden’s knowledge or awareness.
Bernal, now serving as Jill Biden’s chief of staff in the post-presidency transition office, has long been described as the family’s “loyalty enforcer.” A recent book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson labels him the head of the Bidens’ so-called “loyalty police.”
He is now the second Biden insider to plead the Fifth—after former White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor also refused to testify last week. O’Connor’s lawyers cited patient confidentiality, but committee staff say that doesn’t explain his refusal to answer even basic, non-medical questions.
“It’s a coordinated wall of silence,” one Oversight staffer said.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), a staunch Biden ally, dismissed the hearing with an offhand jab: “They’re still losers.”
Meanwhile, Comer has made it clear this investigation is just getting started. Former deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini has already been subpoenaed and is expected to testify this week.
And Comer isn’t ruling out calling Joe Biden himself to answer tough questions under oath.
