Everyone sees it.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is sounding the alarm on socialism—and calling out far-left Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani for pushing a dangerous, unrealistic agenda that threatens American values, jobs, and economic freedom.
During a Monday appearance on FOX Business, Portnoy didn’t hold back after watching young progressives champion socialism as the future of the Democratic Party.
“It makes me want to puke,” Portnoy said bluntly. “These are college kids who’ve never worked a real job. They live in fantasyland, reading books about how the world should be, not how it actually works.”
Portnoy—a self-made entrepreneur who built a multimillion-dollar business from scratch—warned that socialism punishes success and destroys economic growth. He explained that entrepreneurs fuel the economy, creating jobs, opportunity, and prosperity.
“I’m all for giving back and helping people,” he said. “But socialism doesn’t work. There are countless examples where it’s failed—and it always ends in disaster.”
He also blasted the arrogance of young activists pushing economic theories they’ve never tested in the real world.
“I can’t take life advice from a 19-year-old who’s never paid a bill or signed a paycheck,” he added. “They don’t know what it takes to make something work in the real world.”
🔻 Democrat Shift to Socialism Worries Business Leaders
Portnoy’s comments come as New York City veers hard left. Mamdani, who openly identifies as a “democratic socialist,” just won the Democratic nomination for mayor. His radical proposals include:
- Free public transportation
- Government-owned grocery stores
- Rent control and freezes
- Massive taxpayer-funded programs
These ideas may excite young activists—but for working Americans, retirees, and small business owners, they raise serious concerns about government overreach, rising taxes, and the collapse of economic freedom.
🔻 AOC’s Growing Power and 2028 Presidential Buzz
At the same time, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is gaining influence on the national stage. Some in the Democratic Party are even floating her name as a possible 2028 presidential candidate.
Her policies reflect a deep embrace of socialism, climate extremism, and anti-business regulation—ideas that many older, traditional Democrats and independents find alarming.
✅ Bottom Line: Portnoy Speaks for Millions of Americans
Portnoy’s blunt takedown of socialism is resonating with a wide swath of Americans—especially older voters who’ve lived through the real-world consequences of big government and failed leftist experiments.
In today’s political climate, common sense, personal responsibility, and free-market values are under attack. Portnoy’s message is clear: it’s time to stand up, speak out, and push back.
