In another alarming example of lawlessness under Joe Biden’s America, an illegal immigrant was arrested after allegedly stealing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s luxury Gucci handbag during an Easter Sunday family dinner in Washington, D.C.
Suspect Apprehended, Second Criminal on the Run
The Metropolitan Police Department and U.S. Secret Service captured one suspect on Saturday, while a second illegal immigrant suspect remains at large. According to the New York Post, both individuals are unlawfully present in the United States.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has now become involved, a move welcomed by law-abiding Americans who are fed up with rising crime fueled by open borders.
Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin confirmed there is no current evidence that Noem was specifically targeted for her leadership at the Department of Homeland Security.

The suspect in custody is expected to face court early this week.
In a strong statement to Fox News Digital, Secretary Noem praised the work of ICE and the Secret Service and slammed the current broken immigration system:
“The individual taken into custody is a repeat offender who has been living in our country illegally for years,” Noem stated. “I’m grateful to the Secret Service, ICE, and all our law enforcement partners for their quick action in bringing this criminal to justice. Too many American families have paid the price for this chaos, and President Trump is working tirelessly to restore safety and remove dangerous illegal aliens from our communities.”
The Secret Service declined to officially confirm the arrest, citing officer safety, but pledged to follow established public information protocols once charges are officially filed.
How the Crime Unfolded
Noem’s handbag — containing $3,000 in cash, her DHS badge, a passport, driver’s license, blank checks, prescription medication, makeup, and a Louis Vuitton wallet — was snatched from beside her feet as she dined with her family at The Capital Burger restaurant.
Surveillance footage reportedly shows a white male wearing an N95 mask, dark pants, and a baseball cap glancing around the restaurant before skillfully stealing the bag and fleeing the scene.
In an interview on The VINCE Show, Noem recounted the moment:
“It was shocking. I thought it was one of my grandkids bumping me. But it was a professional theft. It shows how dangerous our communities have become — and why President Trump’s mission to restore law and order is more important than ever.”
Another Family Victimized Just Days Before
Disturbingly, just days before Noem’s incident, another woman dining with her family nearby was victimized in a strikingly similar purse-snatching crime. This growing wave of lawlessness in Democrat-run cities is a powerful reminder that public safety must be a top national priority.
