Half of Americans Say Economy Is Trump's Responsibility, You Agree?

Vance Addresses Trump Polling News

Vice President JD Vance is firing back at the mainstream media’s obsession with poll numbers, making it clear that the Trump administration is focused on results—not media spin.

In an interview on Fox News’s Special Report, Vance was asked about President Trump’s approval ratings after 100 days back in office. While polls show strong public support for Trump’s border security efforts, legacy media outlets claim economic policies aren’t faring as well.

Host Bret Baier noted that several surveys paint a mixed picture. But Vance pushed back hard.

“The truth is, I just don’t care much about the polls,” Vance said. “The pollsters don’t know how to talk to real Americans anymore. Most people won’t even stay on the phone when a survey calls.”

Vance: “Polls Didn’t Stop Us in 2024 — They Won’t Stop Us Now”

Vance cited the 2024 election, when pollsters claimed Vice President Kamala Harris was more popular than Trump — a prediction that proved embarrassingly wrong.

“Poll after poll was dead wrong. They don’t measure the real heartbeat of America anymore,” Vance said. “People care about safety, the economy, and restoring American values.”

He emphasized that the administration is focused on delivering for the American people—not chasing headlines.

“Do a good job, and the politics take care of themselves,” Vance said. “If Trump and I stay focused on results, Americans will recognize that in 2026 and beyond.”

President Trump Blasts ‘Dishonest Pollsters’ and Media Elites

President Trump took to Truth Social to slam polling outlets and the corporate media for peddling what he called “fake approval ratings.”

“These are the same corrupt pollsters who said I’d lose in 2016, in 2020, and again in 2024,” Trump wrote. “They’re Negative Criminals who lie to the public and cover it up when I win BIG.”

Despite the media’s narrative, recent data tells a different story:

  • Decision Desk HQ shows Trump with a 44% approval rating
  • Gallup places him at 45%
  • A Washington Post/ABC poll claims 60% of voters say Trump is “out of touch”

But for millions of everyday Americans, those numbers don’t match what they see happening in their communities: lower gas prices, stronger border enforcement, and a return to American greatness.

Why Polling Doesn’t Reflect Today’s America

Many conservatives over 50 have grown deeply skeptical of national polls—and for good reason. As Vance explained:

“Most Americans today don’t answer unknown numbers. And if they do, they hang up immediately. The polling industry is broken.”

This disconnect is leading more Americans to tune out the noise and focus on what truly matters: real leadership, real results, and a return to common sense.

2026 Midterms: Can Republicans Rely on Polls or Results?

Some GOP strategists worry about the optics of low approval ratings heading into the 2026 midterm elections, but Vance and Trump remain laser-focused.

“Let the media talk. Let the polls spin,” Vance said. “We’re going to rebuild this country, protect our borders, and fight for the forgotten men and women of America.”
